Thanks Snuke, you are 100% right, they do fit, once one puts ones brain into gear !! The question now is, why are there so unavailable from Mopar Australia ?

Keep us up to date Webber. I have told the dealer about U-connect issues including hot / cold air, VR not working properly, occasional other spasms which are one off's. He is checking for updates and will get back to me.
But gee she is lovely to drive

Yes, according to the owners manual this is normal, nothing to worry about.

Experienced the same problem today, hot on drivers side, cool on passenger side. Also on the way home this afternoon around 3pm and full sunshine the headlights decided to turn on and the dash lights dimmed so much I could hardly make out the speedo. I stopped the car, did a restart and it went back to normal lighting, go figure.
I think all these problems may be related to a programming problem, maybe there needs to be a software update?

Hmmm... I guess I am on the lookout for these problems. I felt as if the heating was acting up. I mentioned something to my teenage daughter who hit the sinc icon and it seems to have settled down (I have since unsinced them).

As for the auto folding mirrors...I expected them to be like my little car, where they fold in automatically when you lock the doors. Can you see why I was wondering about attaching towing mirrors now?!

The other assumption I made was that the doors would auto lock when I walked away from the car...not so?

And... I am sure Shannon showed me that when parking the front of the car showed up in the screen as well. Do other Overlands have this feature?

I did have a lot of fun driving all over the place last weekend! The adaptive cruise control is the second best thing!

The mudflaps will be fitted with the towbar; I cannot understand why Jeep consider them as optional extras, there is mud splashed all over my bright white Jeep!

Looking forward to a Sunday drive!

Big time!

The software is screwed. I don't mind when I'm on the side getting warm air usually, and cold onto the empty passenger seat, but today I had to turn the vents off because my fingers were burning from the bloody heat!

I fixed the lights coming on to early, by wiping the light sensor with a Kleenex ( middle of dash - small dome) and also winding back the brightness wheel on the right - cant remember which way I turned it, but it helped.

And I'd really like to turn off the dumb computer that doesn't like someone who drives slowly with a foot on the brake while resting it on the accelerator. That's a bug - it's inconceivable that a car should just power down because someone is resting their foot on one of the pedals.

Hi Gforce
Yeah, I had the dimming dash and headlights turned on in bright sunshine when in auto mode. The uconnect needs a serious update. You would think this would have occurred as the US cars have been around for a few months now.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Picked up JGC14 Overland this week. I hoped that I might escape but alas I am experiencing all the same issues - hot/cold climate control (my wife was quietly freezing on passenger side while I had a steady stream of warm air). Control screen started randomly switching itself off today and then starting again back to Jeep welcome screen. Radio also froze today - no sound and showing Am stations when in Fm mode. Stopped and truned car off, waited and then on afgain - still no good. returned later after parked for a while and sound has returned! VR not working at all. Outside of this a wonderful car - just a pity that these things are taking the edge of what should be enjoying what is not a budget car. Dealer suggested to avoid using auto on climate control and should not have a problem - whether on auto / synced / manual does not seem to make a difference - will be following up to ensure rectified.

I'm looking on the bright side.... once this starts occurring to the dealers demo cars (which shouldn't be to far away) jeep australia will quickly find a resolution...

This is building up to a major RECALL problem. I receive a new Uconnect next Wednesday but reading experiences of others I am not confident of all problems remaining "fixed". With an extended warranty I have taken out I wonder just how many times they will exchange my Uconnect?

Booboo, not good enough being told to avoid using auto on climate control. The bottom line is there appears to be a fault in many Uconnects which is going to become a major problem for Chrysler. Luckily, everyone is reporting things that do not appear to effect safety issues. The downside with that is that it may mean Chrysler are less reluctant to find a remedy whereas they cannot turn a blind eye to incidents that risk safety....can you imagine the bad publicity.
