These all sound like software related issues so patches/updates should suffice.
These systems will have a monstrous amount of lines of code.
Finding the issue, patching it, testing to make sure you haven't just done one step forward and two steps back takes time.
On rare occasions it will be hardware related so you replace the unit as per yours Webber. That said, it may still be a software issue and a new unit achieve nothing.
It's the negative flip side of choosing a high tech device.

You could alway park out the front of the dealer handing out lemons to all the potential customers walking in and tell them of the issues you are having. That usually gets someone's notice and the problems are dealt with sooner rather than later.....

I saw it out the front of a Toyota dealer in Brisbane about 2 yrs ago. He had signs all over his Hilux saying... "unbreakable? So why doesn't the thing work? " and he had a tray full of lemons that he was handing out to people. I was picking up a vehicle at the time, and asked my salesman what it was all about, and his words were "not sure, but the DP is trying to get to the bottom of it. Even looking into stock to see if we can put him in a new car today"....

The new commodore has a similar entertainment system and all the same electronics ( zoned air, blind spot and lane warnings, etc ). Their forum is not alight with electronic complaints and a mate with a new car says its running perfectly.
They are certainly complicated systems but did the 2012 model not have a similar but less complex system and 2014 should be a simple incremental step up?
What really surprises me is the the US threads do not seem to have as many problems and they have had the car for a few months longer. Problems in the code written for Oz conditions??

Stop the Press!!!: given Uconnect problem is NOT uncommon, at the time of taking delivery and before you hand over the hard earned cash to a dealer, it's wise to take time to test Uconnect in action. If it's out of whack, you shall refuse to take delivery until it's fixed. This will force the dealer to take prompt action, and will have better chance to put Uconnect saga on the radar.

Erina I believe you have ' hit the nail on the head' The Uconnect has been heavily modified for Australia and as Snuke said there are thousands of lines of code written into the software, some computer nerd has stuffed up big time, unfortunately we the new owners of this new model are the test bunny's. Lets Just hope a bug fix is on its way soon.

Otherwise it is a great vehicle, I have not ' touch wood' experienced any mechanical issues and after very close examination I cannot fault the fit and finish on my GC. It is a joy to drive.

Good idea but unfortunately won't resolve the problem, you may have read that a week ago I picked up my new GC Limited and everything was working perfectly, including the air con, so I assumed that (incorrectly) I had dogged a bullet.
My problems have now only started to appear at around the 280 km mark. All I am doing now is making a note of the date, mileage and problem in my log and see what happens when I present this to my dealer when I go back for the 1000 km check up.
I guess we have to be confident that Chrysler will fix the problem ASAP as the publicity would be very damaging if word got out that a new model had reliability issues.

Reliability? ! The vehicle still runs. Its a luxury to have AC, that said, it is an expensive luxury in this case and we should expect that it works as it should. This will be my second jeep, the first had electrical issues, but that was probably due to the conditions it was used in. It was an off road only vehicle and all the relays would shake loose. I can't imagine any new vehicle in todays high tech world be without some kind of gremlin. Sometimes we need to relax, and remember that this vehicle is being compared with the likes of BMW'S, Mercedes and Range Rover, all of which cost alot more. If you arent paying as much, you cant expect to have the same quality, and some of this quality goies into R&D as well as QC.

Are any Laredo owners experiencing the same problems with the Uconnect and climate control?

Well when one member (Karrakin) recently received his V6 Laredo with a Launch Control button instead of 4wd Low you really question if QC exists at Jeep.

Current owners might want to check underneath and make sure they have a diff up the front. I'll be doing that when mine arrives. Lol!

Gforce is a name known to all
I just checked the Uconnect info page and my jeep Software is Ver 13.15.4

As a way of comparison maybe other owners could check theirs?

On another note, yesterday I took my GC into Motor One and had the under body sprayed with a bituminous type of sealer, this product I have used before on my 11yr old Nissan Patrol, it helps with sound proofing and in particular helps protect the under body against rust, stone chips and salt pick up from when I go beach driving. It's a good product and Motor One have done a very neat job of applying it and being careful in avoiding the sensitive areas like electrics etc.
Downside is that it's a bit on the nose, so you need to keep your GC out of the garage for a day or two, this allows it time to cure properly.
While there I also had the two front windows tinted with a light tint film, looks good, not too dark and now gives me maximum UV protection from the sun when it shines through the drivers window on to my arm which unfortunately has suffered from a lot of sun damage over the years.

As to the driving of my GC I think it is the best car I have owned as far as drivability. I love the way the transmission will give you engine braking when slowing down at the lights, this is unusual for an auto trans car.
I am still getting used to the quick and instant response of that first gear when taking off at the lights, I am sure other motorists think I am a Hoon. The owners manual states that the transmission has built in 'smarts' that adapt to your driving style and gear changes will smooth out over time. I have only really noticed the change from 1st to 2nd, the rest are very smooth.
I could be wrong but I believe this transmission has the 'grip' of a manual. Just love it...

The Navigation is a treat and so far very accurate, only glitch is that some of the speed zones in my area are incorrect, but I think that is normal with most GPS systems. I have set and turned on the speed warning and just love that sexy female voice that tells you you have exceeded the speed limit, might seem annoying to most but I like it as I have found it very easy to speed in this new car.

GC Limited - White - Light Frost Beige. 463 km on the clock.

PS: Will post some pics this weekend for those who my be interested.
