I'm not expecting to see my car until Oct/Nov.
The window sticker on my vehicle states next service 1000 km, Dealer told me its more for a check up and any fault corrections rather than an actual service. Handbook states first service is due at 10000 km.

Again someone is not informing others (dealers) of the issues, either ignoring the situation or just don't give a damn, I suspect Jeep Aus are not being up front with anyone, dealers or owners.
Aus is such a small market that perhaps Jeep Aus has no pull with headoffice Chrysler, who knows I certainly don't.
Spoke to my Dealer this morning re the Uconnect issues, he said that they were not aware of any, go figure...

Ah well, I think I might have to take mine to the dealer next week. Got all warnings come up on the TFT screen this arvo, and no speedometer , turned off, turned back on etc no change. But when I parked it and left it for an hour, when I came back, all was well, except for an engine warning light.

When I test drove Laredo CRD on the road in July, suddenly the TFT went blank with all lights off, the sales consultant next to me said that turn the light switch from AUTO to OFF which brought the screen back. He said that it's caused by AUTO mode. I did not pay attention then. Now other owners report the similar problem, join the dots, definitely there's 'bug'.

There is a whole thread on this in the Problems section. On my iPhone so I can't link it. But it talks of it being a faulty ABS module. To be honest it doesn't sound like they know what it is yet.

Thx for that. I have read the "Christmas tree" thread which seems to go down the rd of checking fuses, the ground, the abs module, then shavings inside the wheel interfering with the speed instrument .

But yes, kind of sound s like they don't really know.

I'm sure whatever it is will be fixed soon. Funny that one of our dealers just turns the lights from AUTO to OFF and that fixed it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I agree Domo10 - to my mind apart from body styling updates the 2 key upgrades promoted by CJD for the JGC14 was 8 speed box and the Uconnect system. So far I am quite happy with the drive / transmission (will get a chance to stretch her legs a little more tomorrow) but the Uconnect is proving less than satisfactory (regular issues and have less than 200kms on clock). Spent today juggling between having climate control off and fogging up and having on and my wife frozen while I was in a stream of warm/hot air. System has a mind of its own - dropped out while reversing out of driveway today - fantastic!!!......left gazing at the jeep logo whilst it sat there rebooting itself.

Booboo... if you place your wifes side temperature on higher than yours.... this will make her side hotter.... then close all your vents and turn on the heated seat and steering wheel if you have these features
