Yes, the Label underneath clearly states 'GENUINE MOPAR' with logo and the part number. Then under this on the same label it says
Manufactured by Best Bars Auckland New Zealand.

As a matter of interest when I enquired last year about a Tow Bar for a 2012 GC I was looking at, I was informed by the sales rep that the bars were actually made by Hayman Reece as the tow bars have to conform to Australian Design Rules.

Agree with that, apparently our stickers are going too at some time in the future. We are a little slowww up here in Qld, turn back your clock one hour and your calendar back 10 years. ( and yes I was born and bred here too).

Thanks. I have enquired here in Adelaide and have been told the tow hook would have to be removed with HR and others. Looks like you get to keep it with the genuine part.

I have a Towing Eye bolt for my Limited, not too sure where it fits (no smart comments now) but it is in the spare wheel compartment, it has a long thread at one end, I guess it fits up front somewhere as there is already a Tow Hook fitted on the rear of the vehicle.

The tow eye in with the spare tyre fits to the front left by removing a small cover. It is only meant to used for towing on the bitumen, not for being bogged and getting snatched out.

The tow hook screws in behind the removable cover in the front bumper on drivers side. Think salmo was referring to the rear hook, and as you said it's still there, as is mine. I have the tow bar fitted but still no wiring kit in yet. Whereabouts in qld are ya geforce? Love my black interior but that light colour is very nice!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I just got back from a weekend trip to Canberra from Sydney. Very nice trip with fuel economy somewhere around 6.5L/100km using ACC on the freeway (as stated by Jeep). Hard to say exactly as I did not reset Trip A stats... was 10.0L/100km when we started the trip and was 7.0L/100km when we got back. I had the economy button on most of the time.

Current average consumption is 7.8km over a total distance driven of 1064km (close to Jeeps stated 7.5L/100km combined fuel economy).

Regards,

Sparky

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

GeForce, thank you for posting all the photos, I have a Granite with the light interior on order. Like the darker Capet mats you have! I always thought they were quite small but yours seem to prove a good coverage, were they a standard Jeep accessories or did you get from somewhere else? Also not sure if the sides, floor and back of rear seat in the rear cargoarea come in the light interior or a darker carpet. Seen both colour options for light interior and not sure which one comes as standard for the cargo compartment.

Thank you

Thanks jayezy and salmo.... I find out something new each day.... todays lesson for me was the front on-road tow hook.... I just assumed it was something to do with the jack.
