Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

this afternoon, I was shocked to see my u connect screen turned off totally, cannot do anything and called the dealer. They know straight away how to do and asked me to bring it over. They said they reset the screen and everything back to normal. But not very happy to experience this at 800 km clock. Has any body got this and is it common?
Have any body heard new software update on the way?
Thanks

Thanwintun, your question will probably prompt many to report their experiences which are already posted here. Colossie lost his screen momentarilly and remedied it by pressing volume & Tune button at same time to reboot the Uconnect. Reports of reverse camera going blank, no VR working, Nav screen spitting the dummy, Uconnect failing to monitor heating with one side blowing cold and the other hot.....and so it goes on and on.
My car goes in for a new Uconnect this Wednesday. They have assured me they are aware of the problems and the new one will remedy it. Time will tell. I love most features on my Uconnect. My problems are that the Nave will not remember favourites etc. Voice Recognition will not work for calling out, only for receiving calls. Car blows Hot one side and then Cold the other. They tell me it is a very quick job to exchange the Uconnect so I will be reporting outcomes later on this site.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Now, just to stir the pot. Why are you guys asking to change wheels over to multi spoked wheels. I love my Overland 5 spokes. A very classy finish and so much easier to keep clean. So easy to get between the spokes and to actually keep the inside of the wheel clean. My insides of the wheel are all mirror shiny because I can easily get right in behind the spokes to clean the flat wheel section. I can just place my entire hand through the spokes and wipe it all down with a sponge or a nice special soft brush I now have to put through. Now for the reactions???????

Hey Gforce, whatever you did it worked. Very nice unit - the light frost definitely lifts the profile of the car, and the blends nicely witht he black carpet. All in all a nice choice. Also noticed the tow bar fitted - so your dealer didn't encounter any difficulty??? Also notice the nice touch of the slim number plate on the front and the full size on the rear - fill the spaces nicely. Was this a special request or did the dealer do it as standard?

Regards,

Nice work, we are happy we chose the light interior too.
We are also getting the cargo liner, good to see the dog cover there, we also have the same round one (blue satin, grey other side). Gotta love the dogs.

No mud flaps though?

For us, I thought the standard 20s look boring, the misses actually doesn't like them. Now that I know about Plasti Dip, I may have kept them and sprayed them instead.
I did say the one plus to the 20s is that they would be easier to clean.
In fact it was one of the things that bugged me about the MY13s, the boring wheels on the Ltd and Laredo.

There is a whole thread about it here that some of us has commented in.
18" Overland wheels

I know someone posted earlier that they got an SRT with the Goliaths and loved them far more than the Spider Monkeys, I am the opposite. Love the Spider Monkeys.

Each to their own, whatever makes us happy.

Depends on the model. Laredo & Ltd it is a contrast, dark floors & cargo base with light upper.
Overland it's light everywhere.

thanks Snuke....I looked at your link. I still prefer the 20's but understand beauty is in the "eye of the beholder" but I still think there is a real disadvantage in cleaning the 18's. Very easy to put your hand staight in between the spokes on the 20's and wipe down the inside of the wheel to a polished finish. How do you do that with the 18's?

Hi Snuke, Dealer was out of stock, will be fitted at the 1000 km check up. Glad you like the interior.
