Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Excellent review NC.

I love reading about these adventures but I have no desire to go myself. It's a Kiwi thing. No matter how long we live here, we just cannot, cannot get used to the great distances that are travelled in this vast land.

Hell, we can (almost) toss a stone from Christchurch to the Southern Alps and travelling for more than an hour - we start packing a picnic and supplies.

I'm the bane of my (Australian) husband's life in this regard.

I love reading about it though (so keep posting on your trip) and you're right. If Jeep Aus (CA) ever get their service and spare parts act together, they most definitely have a winner of a vehicle.

Snuke's post is interesting. They should try to keep that momentum going and to that end, the first thing they should do is get a fix out that corrects the UC/Climate Control issues.

Read this article on the NZ Herald yesterday. GC sales are up by 27% even after the teething issues they seem to still be experiencing.

If I decided to choose a letter / number combo then price goes up to $450. Big rip off...
Hi Gforce
I made a similar choice - two slimline plates in black with white writing against a granite background - came out great and the dealer did not charge for the choice. Got the new plate sequence also (in VIC) - starts with AA----

Great feedback otherwise.
Thanks for the correction Snuke, not much use for ACC out here unless it works with Roos and Emu ..... I meant the Cruise control el naturale.

2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

I want this thread to be more factual in order to gauge the scope of issues so please don't make comments, suggestions or possible fixes.

Just list your variant and brief description of the problem.

I will regulary post links to that thread on the Jeep Au Facebook page, to keep them happy and maybe get them to pull their finger out.
Don't forget to post your problems here. So far it looks like the CRD's are having the issues. Interesting...

Have to work out how to use Facebook again, tried to post on Jeep Au but didn't work. Maybe I have to be their friend...I don't like false relationships.

Not really, considering most here have CRDs, which is what you would expect as most GCs that are sold are CRDs.
Simple numbers game, more CRD owners, more reports to come from CRD owners.

Tiny sample size at the moment. Far too small to draw any statistical conclusions.

I'd buy that option.

Pharmaboy - How did you go with your Check Engine Light issue (CEL)? I can only relate to it on WK '07 (that's a bit of a story) but all good after 4 1/2 odd years.

How did you go? What did the dealership say?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Sorry if posted before.
With my android phone paired with u connect, I cannot access music contents or message on the screen. I can only use my phone to access my music contents and play, then I can pause/ play/ next on the screen. Is that it? Does it fully compatible with only iphone not androids?
Thanks

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

nariracruisin' ...Let me be one to give you a formal "Thankyou" for your efforts to post your experiences for all to read. It is a good example of the benefits of this forum. Now it's a shame with those extras that it was not possible to add the ACC because I and others would strongly suggest buyers consider this feature. It is so superior to normal Cruise Control it just aint funny. One of the best features on this car along with the automatic high beam....luv them. Let's hope they have ironed out some of those Uconnect problems. I think I will be one of the first to get a new Uconnect fitted tomorrow. Let's see how many K's I get before reporting problems.

Hi, check engine light went out , pretty much like everyone else who has had the same glitch. My dealer is a 3 hr return trip, so ill leave that to another day, and hope its not a common outcome
