Update.

While on this thread I thought I would give you all an update on my new GC Limited. I have just finished my first tank of diesel (as supplied by the dealer, many thanks) and I have averaged 7.7 km per 100, that has given me a range of well over 1000km, very impressive for a new motor. The vehicle is still running perfectly, tight as a drum, no unusual noises and as smooth as silk.

Although still some problems with the Air Con issues that we have been talking about lately, the strange thing is that all the other Uconnect problems seem to have sorted themselves out, very strange that, but I am not complaining.

Only other thing of note is that the engine oil has dropped to the halfway mark, which to me seems a little excessive, but I guess being a new engine the piston oil rings have still to settle in.

Otherwise all is well, no regrets, I love my Jeep.

Thanks auscop, it does suck but only a bit. Just the inconvenience of having to have it rectified. Good to hear your black sheep is doing ok though, apart from copping that rock.l

You know something? (no I am NOT Kevin Rudd).
There are a few posts going up about our fuel consumption and all looks good. I too have achieved some good runs well under the 8/100Km levels but are we doing this at the expense of teaching our cars memory system that we are very light footed. Will our cars become sluggish and not know how to accellerate out of trouble when the time comes. Have tried going out some times and planting the foot but you know what..(No,I told you, I am not Kevin '07) unbelievable, almost every time I have had the daylight scared out of me with a damn cop car coming from the other direction. 3 or 4 times now I have thought, "I am gone"......and I don't want my car to remember that an old man is driving it. Now thats one problem your car wont have to worry about SNUKE, Pharmaboy and some others.

That does appear excessive, even for a new Jeep. I would be closely monitoring that. Mine does not appear to use any significant oil between changes.

Lucky for us OH&S laws don't apply to our cars or we would have to paint the tow bar orange and cover with foam... and that wouldn't look good

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Even though it will get lost in this thread, cars being produced since July in the states with ACCC will have the updated version with Stop & Go ability

See Milous post here Adaptive Cruise Control Stop-go

Looks like NH3 (cruise w/stop) quietly went into production this month, can't find an exact date yet.

BTW, a 4th digit on the build sheet option codes means:

NH3S ("S" = Standard)
NH3P ("P" = Package)

It has also been confirmed that current ACCC systems are not able to be upgraded to this.

Not sure if both of these things apply to Aus builds.

I know a few inc Enforcer had held of buying MY14s because this was not included.

It also looks like that tow hooks won't be a goer. Received an email from the dealer saying that they are having trouble fitting them. I'll keep you updated as I find out more.

Had new Uconnect put in. Sat in car and tested everything and everything worked fine. "Temperature 25 degrees" and bingo, the temperature changed. "Navigate to................ and away it worked. Nav also remembered the Home address etc. Phone book appeared with a full listing. Able to ring phone numbers by pressing green phone symbol and asking, "call 744123455" and away everything worked. Heating all round now working fine.....THEN, about an hour later the gremlins got in again. Temperature voice recognition not working. Voice recognition for navigation no longer working. However, I still have the phone book listed. Still able to make voice controlled phone calls. The Nav has memory which I lost last time.
SO WHERE AM I UP TO: Anthony, the service manager recalled that the first time it worked and then stopped the next day. This time, with a new Uconnect put in it all worked for the demo but an hour later started playing up. The new Uconnect appears to have fixed half of the problems. The heating is working correctly but I am not confident it will remain doing so....I just get a feeling it is trying to spit the dummy again too. Anthony is stumped and perplexed. I think the problem is in the VR button on the steering wheel this time and not the Uconnect. I am going to ring Anthony tomorrow to propose swapping the steering wheel over with this new uconnect to see what happens. Will keep all posted....it's just that I don't have conclusive news to post. BUT LET ME RE-ITERATE for those contemplating purchasing an MY14 JGC.....DO IT. Even with my problems they are still minor with this stunningly good car. Unfortunately though it is a car that needs an hour or two in the "simulator".
Veerrrryy disappointing to hear your replacement wasn't a one off fix. On the other hand, maybe it is a simple update that will fix everyone's issues???

Please keep us updated as to how she goes and if they find a fix. I just want my car to be complete - that's what we all paid our hard earned for!

Webber

Thank you for the hospitality you gave to my missus and I last Saturday. You have a great and interesting garden centre. We will revisit in the spring when my U-connect will be all fixed. We had a great drive that day - broken up by a yummy lunch in town.

Webber - what is the version of your new U-connect? Has it been updated?
Mine is version 13:15:4. Has everyone else the same version?

I really, really cant wait ....

I spoke to my dealer today and I have to admit i'm not a happy camper. I asked him about changing the rims from the chrome to the shadow chrome and he said it cant be done. Apparently all Sept built cars will not have tyre options .... is that possible????
when I signed up 2 weeks ago it was an option and now its not??
