Seems to me the dealer simply can't be stuffed giving you anything other than the "vanilla" version.
Shows either a lack of knowledge of the product he sells, or mostly likely laziness.
Or as i said, it has been accepted into production, hit D1 status and can no longer be modified.
Seems more reasonable, just silly that they haven't said it if it is the case.

Very exciting

Please post some pics. I'd love to see the colour. We debated over the redline but weren't brave enough in the end .... I think it will be amazing

Hey GiGi, name & shame the dealer so others can be wary. At the very least, someone may take note, and you may by chance receive a call advising you they overlooked your request and happy to assist....

I think I saw somewhere in here that Shadow Chrome could not be ordered yet. I wanted the standard spider monkeys anyway but made me glad I didn't want the dark ones.

If it is all wheels choices then maybe that is a question for Milous to determine if it factory wide or just something CJD Oz has decided?

BTW, a 4th digit on the build sheet option codes means:

NH3S ("S" = Standard)
NH3P ("P" = Package)”
My overland has a July 4 build date and it has NH1P.

I actually was tossing up between the Deep Cherry Red and Redline when placing my order back in May. I chose to play it safe and go with the Deep Cherry, mainly because I hadn't seen and photos of the Redline. After seeing photos of the Redline I started to wish that I had gone out on a limb and ordered the Redline.

I got a bit of a pleasant surprise when I called into the dealer to get an update on delivery only to be old that my "Redline" SRT has been built and is on a ship. After challenging the colour, a rather red faced salesman conceded that it is in fact not the colour that I ordered and said that Jeep had stopped producing the Deep Cherry Red SRT. I thought that he was BSing me, but i have heard that mentioned on here as well.

Luckily I am looking forward to the Redline, but it could have turned out to be really disappointing experience. I should have played along and acted all disappointed, demanding heaps of free stuff to make up for their mistake, but I am too honest and got a bit excited. Oh well, hindsight is all well and good, and I am now getting what I really want.

I also wanted the Spider Monkey rims, but didn't get he choice when ordering and was told that the Goliath rims were coming as standard. He then said that he had ordered 20sets of the spider monkeys that were due mid August and I could look at swapping them if I wanted.

I got my VIN from the dealer and sent it to Milous to get my build sheet. It turns out that I actually have the spider monkeys on the car....and it really is Redline.

Moral of the story, Jeep Au is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. Sometimes it works in your favor, others not so.

I will be sure to post some pics for you.

I was also tossing up between the DCR and Redline.
I played it safe and ordered the DCR with the stock goliaths and pano and HK audio.
Great news is it will "step ashore" in Melbourne on monday after what seems the longest two months ever.
Another couple of weeks and I should have it

This means that the computer must be functioning with regard to listening and answering my commands. It's just that when I press the VR button absolutely nothing happens. The radio does not even attempt to go slightly mute. It makes me think the button is not working or connecting to whatever it needs to connect to. Thanks for your concerns though. Lets hope you are right and a software feature comes out. The strange thing though is if it is software and we all have the same software then why is my Uconnect not working like yours?
....and, I am not completely satisfied that my heating problems are working properly although at the moment they are.
I know others are also hoping for resolutions with respect to the heating.
Hi Webber, we picked up our CRD overland yesterday and I noticed (among other uconnect quirks) that my VR function will only work with a very quick press of the button. ie don't press the button down for any longer than a second, just a very quick toggle of the button. I thought mine was buggered too. It may not help out all but something worth trying. My VR seems to work on everything except for dialing names in my phone book (which is populated on uconnect).

Another weird thing I noticed is that under the "safety & driving assistance" menu in settings, the first 5 menu options will not hold your selection. So if I select "far" for the collision warning, after approx 5 seconds it reverts back to near. The other weird thing is I have forward collision warning active breaking selected "off" (again will not stay on if I tick the "on" box) but it is actually turned on because it went off last night and jammed the brakes on when a car suddenly slowed down in front of me. It's also the same deal for blind spot monitoring as well as park sense which says they're both turned off (again tick the "on" box and it reverts back to off after 5 seconds) but they are actually both turned on and functioning. Very very weird.

Other than the above issues which I'm sure will be sorted with a software update at some stage, it's a cracker of a car. It's extremely comfy with enough gadgets to keep any tech junky satisfied. I'm 6'5 and very long in the legs, my wife is 5'6 so i can never get into a car after she has been driving without putting the seat back first. Having the memory seat function on the key fob would have to be one of the features I appreciate the most so far!

Putting my faith in the ACC for the first time was extremely bizarre and freaked me out a little. I came up to slow moving traffic in an 80 zone and started getting pretty nervous but it worked very well and as one would expect.

A little over $50 for shipping the whole lot. I am a very happy camper at the moment. Not sure how much the running boards would cost here.. But I am sure I save a bit. All items are Mopar..
G'day Auscop
I noticed that the running boards on Amazon say these are for 2010-12 model GCs. Do these also fit the 2014 model year?
Cheers

Hi iwantanotherjeep

I have no problems with clearance with bodywork even in park mode as photo will show and want to see how they go off road and on the beach. Sorry I did not get back sooner but have been working. Up here in Brisbane I went to Forby's 4WD superstore and paid $1288.00 for 4 Zeon LTZ . That's $1688.00 less $400.00 trade in.

G'Day Chooke, Yes they are the same. I checked the part number on the Mopar website and they are identical... Apart from being over $100 less than RRP.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Fyi, tested myACC on my Overland CRD ORAII today.
"ACC disabled speed below minimum" or similar

Quick question... Is the rear tow hook that comes with the car (still there after fitting tow bar) suitable for offroad recovery or just on road towing?

Cheers,
Sparky
