We intend to travel and may hitch a caravan so maybe an Overland is overkill oh and Black will give more trouble but GEEEEE it looks fantastic and drives superbly. I was just responding to a PM question re cost and clearance with guard and I am sure others can do a better deal. Now to look into ambient lighting which I am sure I will need to make a fabulous car even better.
What you do is you fit the ambient lighting and run a bright eerriee colour. In a black car out in the dark outback at night your car is going to look more like a flying saucer moving along. I need to post another pic or two just for fun.

Up here in Brisbane I went to Forby's 4WD superstore and paid $1288.00 for 4 Zeon LTZ . That's $1688.00 less $400.00 trade in.
Thanks sick truck,

They look fantastic and they will be my choice of new tyre(taken Snukes advice with spelling ). I think I'm going to leave it for now and wait for the Khumo's to wear out. After much ringing around I have left it a bit late because they couldn't get them in until early this week. Best I could get was $275 a corner with trade in which I thought was pretty good value. However I found some who wouldn't take the trade in but would do the Zeon's at $372 a corner.

So in the end I worked it out that my Khumo's are only worth $97 a tyre so I thought I'm better off leaving them on for a year or two(there you go webber )

However, I would have loved the truck to come with the Zeon's because it would have really suited the look of my GC with the rock rails on.

G'day Wade,

I was going to get the two US hooks fitted. I haven't heard that the hooks aren't Australian rated, they sell the trailhawk with the two recovery hooks so I don't think that it would be true, otherwise how could they do it on the trailhawk? I haven't heard of the single recovery hook solution other than what they did for the 2012 GC. Is that what they are doing for you?

Cheers

Carpet Protection

I know some of you are going for the rubber 'Slush Mats', but I have decided to stick with the carpet Mats.
I have just tried and tested a good Carpet Protection product that seem to work exceptionally well and lives up to the promise. It is called Seal-Guard Carpet and Rug Protection and it is made by Sure Seal.

It comes in a 350g Aerosol Can and will cover up to 6 Sq meters. Yesterday I treated my Car Mats and today I did the interior carpet in the GC (I used lots of old bed sheets to protect the interior from the small amount overspray). There is plenty of product in the can to do all the carpet in our vehicles.

I did the recommended test and tipped a 1/2 cup of water on the carpet and it just simply ran off, none soaked in, so looks it like is a good product.
It is available from most hardware stores, I purchased mine from Masters and the cost was $23.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Does anyone out there know the answer?

While doing my 'carpet thing' I found a removable lid under the passenger seat, on inspection there seems to be an empty bin under this lid, I know the battery is under the drivers seat, but could this bin under to passenger seat be a place for a spare battery or does it serve some other purpose ??

The bin under the passenger seat is where the hydralift suspension pump resides.

Phew!...thanks for that guys.
With all things technical there is always an easy answer... that being to consult with the neighbours 6 year old son.... and this will serve a second purpose too... but most likely will cost you a tank of fuel.... but at least then you will have the 1st problem sorted and also know whether the usb ports in the rear work too.

Jeep australia could have been thinking ahead and providing a spot to place our money if they start taxing us for depositing our money in a bank

I think it is where the Uconnect gremlins hide.

Hi iwantanotherjeep

Good point, I didn't even think about the trailhawk. I'll have to mention that to my dealership.
I'm not really sure about my recovery hook but I know the rock rails I'm getting fitted are from the 2012 GC so the recovery hook is probably from the 2012 GC too.

Wade
