Hi Gforce, out of interest, is the bin easily accessible for additional storage?

The air pump is in the bottom of motor bay, near radiator. All the electrics/computer controller for air suspension is in bin under front passenger seat. Dommo10 - the bin lid just clips into position, give it a firm lift upwards to release. Move seat fully forward or backwards to give yourself more room - can get to it from either side of seat.

My advise to people is that unless it is really adversely effecting you, put it down as an annoyance that will be fixed and try not to be fixated on it.
Could not agree more. We all have amazing 4WDs and when you buy something so cutting edge technically advanced there will be the odd issue.

Good luck on the DVR... FYI I have a fetchtv box and love it...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I took delivery off my Black Limited CRD on saturday.

Have been very happy with the team at Werribee Jeep and happily recommend them to anyone here, there was a slight speed bump with the electric brake controller but they quiclky came up with an amicable arrangment.

Also very happy with the grand cherokee apart from the obligatory climate control problem - which is actually more annoying than it sounded, somehow it managed to switch from hot driver & cold passenger to cool driver and hot passenger which was far more agreeable (until she drives).
And it does seem like I've to be able to manage it by switching to max A/C temporaily ... although the issue still may or may not come back next time the vehicle is started.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Climate control problem, I don't think is niggly. At certain temperatures, it makes life inside the jeep for either the passenger or driver, quite uncomfortable.

When you are cool, having cold air blown on you isn't particularly pleasant, and vice versa.

On the drivers side I can at least turn off both vents, but on passenger side, the central vent can be switched off but the left hand one not- don't know if this is a design thing or a fault.

Either way, trying to figure out how to run it adequately in a manual mode, and not having much luck.

Not the only one either. My 2014 Limited CRD goes into the dealer tomorrow to get the climate control looked at. I also have the cruise control issue where it will shut off completely after Set+ is pressed for several seconds and the Auto headlights turning on in the middle of a bright sunny day. Hopefully easy fixes thoroughly updates etc. but will post the results for all to see

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi guys,

As posted here 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

I'm experiencing the following issues. Anyone else having similar issues?

Cruise control
- Does not activate at all. It's been to the dealer twice, issue logged with Jeep in the states for advice.

Centre console compartment
- Compartment door is not aligned properly/warped. New part ordered.

Transmission
- When coming to a stop the vehicle leaps forward when changing into first gear. Although this doesn't happen all the time.

Foot brake
- Car moves forward even after foot brake applied. I put the car into park, apply the footbreak, then turn off the car. Take my right foot off the brake and vehicle moves forward (if facing downhill). Out of curiosity if I then park the car into neutral it doesn't move forward. If I then release the foot brake the car starts rolling forward. So the footbrake does seem to be working, but when it's initially engaged the slight rolling forward does concern me.

Acceleration
- When acceleration briskly from 0km/h there is a rattle sound coming from the drive train. the sound only occurs initially and disappears after around 20km/h.

I totally disagree. A consumer buys/pays for a car in its entirety NOT part of it. Regardless how advance a unit is, if it blows out warm air when you want cool, or vice versa, it's no better than NO AC at all. By the way, when the steamy hot summer turns up, are you still comfortable sitting in the car with warm air blowing at you face?

I don't think Uconnect saga just confines to Aussie market. Google it and you can find out owners in US experiencing the similar problem months before us. So, a software fix could be a wishful thinking. Hope I'm wrong. My car is still pending for production. Fingers crossed.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well I think I jinxed myself... Started the BaaBaaa this morning to go to work and the uconnect did not power up. Turned the car off and back on, no joy. Did the reboot thingy holding down the two buttons and everything was back to normal in a jiffy. However after about 10 mins the AC kept blowing out hot air way too long as I only had it set to 21deg. For giggles I turned off the heated seat and steering wheel and set the AC to "sync" within seconds it was all happy again. Have not had one issue with the AC until the power up failure this morning.

Can't say I'm having any issues yet, maybe I'm about to jinx myself. Heading up the coast tomorrow to stretch her legs. Today I went through the mountains and give it heaps in Sport mode. Wow. My wife hasn't spoken yet, so maybe I went toooooo far with the grin on my face. I've had small compact sports cars, but this girl just wants to dance.

I’m not saying it is acceptable, not by any means; I am just trying to suggest that people don’t let it become a bigger issue in their minds than it needs to be.
I see it time after time where people give the problem an emotional connection, and it becomes a pain to them greater than the reality of the situation.
Just try top keep it rational and not emotional.
The car has a problem, a multinational problem. It needs to be fixed, it will be fixed. I can’t see how it is possible that it won’t be fixed.

And yes, I hope it's fixed by the time we get ours, as I know I will be in for an ear beating from the misses if she gets cold air not and not warm.
She hates the cold, HATES IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
