Hi auscop & iboughtajeep - I have had the same problem and thought it extremely weird that it happened on the same small stretch of road at about the same time while driving home from work. Believe it or not it would be about 3.45 - 4.00pm. I am also driving pretty well due east (away from the sun). Maybe your explanation is right auscop.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Snuke speaks wisdom.

That headlight thing - I can confirm also that it happens between 3.15pm and 4pm and always in the same spot - little village with tree's overhanging road - sun low in sky.

I just flip Auto off.

Now, I have a very real issue that I only discovered this morning whilst browsing the general JeepGarage threads. You know, all those other threads - I especially like WK ones since we have one of those also.

Anyway, I cannot remember which thread I was reading but I noticed someone's byline had ordered a MY14 with NEW ZEALAND interior.

I did a double take and thought excuse me! Someone did not tell me about this! I googled and found this:

Quote:
The New Zealand interior is a two-tone Black and Light Frost. Nador Brown Walnut interior wood trim finish adorns the instrument panel and door panels and eases the contrast between the two-tone upper and lower interior. The aluminium door handle and dash vent bezels, like the trim on the centre console, feature a slight gold hue
.

Why didn't I get that option? I would have ordered it from purely patriotic reasons. Not fair - not happy.

Has anyone been given the NZ interior option (I'll forgive you if you declined) but is this an option Downunder?

Here's a pic from the web.

Logic tells my a New Zealand interior should not be a two tone interior, but rather "All Black"

It doesn't matter what colour it is. It will eventually be covered in sheepskin.

Im not worried about it anymore. The wife won't let me drive "her car", as I wont let her drive mine.... we'll see what happens when we do our annual pilgrimage to Fraser.... its her problem for now.

Cheeky sod IBAJ.

You're right Aus - 'All Black' is more appropriate - I have that.

Perhaps a huge gash in the open pore wood panel would be more appropriate for the NZ interior also. The Alpine Fault is about to go after all.

It is the Black & Light Frost option with the black floor carpet.
The all black interior is "inspired" by Morocco, so called Moroccan, and the Light Frost is inspired by NZ.

I have the NZ interior on order, it is what Gforce got, see his gallery here:

Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum - Gforce's Album: Gregs Album

It looks awesome, happy to wait several months to get it.

Read more about the interiors here:
Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - 2011-2014 Grand Cherokee interior

Yes as Burger said, relatively easy access, same as access to the battery.

The NZ interior was and is not available to you, you ordered an Overland.
The Overland has a full light interior, this is what Webber got.

"On the opposite end of the spectrum is the Jeep Brown and Light Frost interior derived from the geographic diversity found in the Asian country of Nepal. The perforated Nappa leather seats, center console, and the lower instrument and door panels are finished in Light Frost with the steering wheel and upper instrument and door panels finished in Jeep Brown. Open-pore brown Zebrano wood with contrasting silver trim is found on the instrument panel door panels, and the trim surrounding the shifter, dash vents and door handles takes on a silver hue."

Webbers Overland
