The Overland has a full light interior, this is what Webber got.

"On the opposite end of the spectrum is the Jeep Brown and Light Frost interior derived from the geographic diversity found in the Asian country of Nepal. The perforated Nappa leather seats, center console, and the lower instrument and door panels are finished in Light Frost with the steering wheel and upper instrument and door panels finished in Jeep Brown. Open-pore brown Zebrano wood with contrasting silver trim is found on the instrument panel door panels, and the trim surrounding the shifter, dash vents and door handles takes on a silver hue."

Hi Snuke,

Do u have visual image for overland, brown color? Given mine is still pending for production, I may change the color.

Thanks

You mean the Brown & Indigo Blue, there are plenty, Google is your friend.
Here is JG thread about it.
How are people enjoying their Indigo interiors?

That is what my black Overland is, just love it. My dealer loved the interior so much he was going to buy one for himself just like it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks Snuke.

I presume that there's no Brown color for Aussie market. It's an option in US. I'm emailing requesting the colour change to Indigo Brown. Wish me luck

Thanks

After seeing photos of the Redline I started to wish that I had gone out on a limb and ordered the Redline.

I got a bit of a pleasant surprise when I called into the dealer to get an update on delivery only to be old that my "Redline" SRT has been built and is on a ship. After challenging the colour, a rather red faced salesman conceded that it is in fact not the colour that I ordered and said that Jeep had stopped producing the Deep Cherry Red SRT. I thought that he was BSing me, but i have heard that mentioned on here as well.

Luckily I am looking forward to the Redline, but it could have turned out to be really disappointing experience. I should have played along and acted all disappointed, demanding heaps of free stuff to make up for their mistake, but I am too honest and got a bit excited. Oh well, hindsight is all well and good, and I am now getting what I really want.

I also wanted the Spider Monkey rims, but didn't get he choice when ordering and was told that the Goliath rims were coming as standard. He then said that he had ordered 20sets of the spider monkeys that were due mid August and I could look at swapping them if I wanted.

I got my VIN from the dealer and sent it to Milous to get my build sheet. It turns out that I actually have the spider monkeys on the car....and it really is Redline.

Moral of the story, Jeep Au is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. Sometimes it works in your favor, others not so.

I will be sure to post some pics for you.
LOL and Wow ... Sad that you have to reference them to a box of chocolates. I"d like to know how that happens?? you order one colour and get another? It amazes me that this is possible. at the very least you should have received a call to let you know your colour choice was unavailable. The more I hear about Jeep Australia the more I'm disappointed. Good customer service is hard to come by these days but I expect when I make such a big $$ purchase that what I request is what I get (obviously within their option range).

Oh well enough of the rant. Very Happy that it all worked out for you, best possible news in the end So have you been told when it's available for pick up?

How are yours going with respect to the Radio and Nav at the moment.

Today, whilst reversing out of the driveway I must have run over one or two of those "Gremlins" because for an unknown reason my 'VR' button is now working but their are still problems.

Temperature works fine. Call out "Temperature 20 degress" and it works.
But:
when giving the command, "Navigate to 6 Gap Road, Sunbury, Victoria, Australia" or lesser commands leaving off the State and Country the response I get is...."I'm sorry, speech destination entry is not possible with selected Country" Am I alone here?

Music: The commands "Play song Blaa Blaa" just will not work.
or the command, "Play artist ABBA" keeps coming back with "sorry, I didn't get that" and it then offers help advice but following that advice fails to remedy the situation.

However, the Uconnect is having a love affair with Elvis Presley because I can get one song and that is "Suspicion" by Elvis Presley. It will find that guy both via song request or artist request.

These are the strangest of Gremlins!

Hey SNUKE, Blakey, iboughtajeep and Domo10
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. I'm going in tomorrow to have a chat and see if I can get some solid info from him. If he continues to give me the run around I will seriously think about naming this dealer.

For now I don't care about the colour of the rims as long as I get the spider monkey ones the only reason I asked to change to the shadow chrome (which just to be clear was a choice when I signed) was because my partner thinks the look "meaner" and would prefer them. Its still the debate in our household .... LOL I guess there could be worst thing to argue over

I simply think you have a discerning Uconnect system.

I have had VR in cars prior to this one, and none have ever worked properly in regards to recognition of what I was saying. I wouldnt put it down to a Uconnect issue if thats your only gripe about it. Its just a technology that would be good if someone was able to perfect it.

A 36 year old female had an accident several weeks ago. It was raining, though not excessively when her car suddenly began to hydro-plane and literally flew through the air. She was not seriously injured but very stunned at the sudden occurrence! When she explained to the Police Officer what had happened, he told her something that every driver should know -

NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN WITH YOUR CRUISE CONTROL ON..

She thought she was being cautious by setting the cruise control and maintaining a safe consistent speed in the rain....
But the Police Officer told her that if the cruise control is on,your car will begin to hydro-plane when the tyres lose contact with the road, and your car will accelerate to a higher rate of speed making you take off like an aeroplane. She told the Officer that was exactly what had occurred. The Officer said this warning should be listed, on the driver's seat sun-visor -

NEVER USE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE ROAD IS WET OR ICY,

Along with the airbag warning. We tell our teenagers to set the cruise control and drive a safe speed but we don't tell them to use the cruise control only when the road is dry.

The only person the accident victim found who knew this, (besides the Officer), was a man who'd had a similar accident, totaled his car and sustained severe injuries..

NOTE: Some vehicles (like the Toyota Sienna Limited XLE) will not allow you to set the cruise control when the windshield wipers are on.

Please read above:
Is there any reference to the above in our Manuals....I'm too lazy at the moment to check it out.
This is not likely to happen with modern cars with traction control less likely again with a 4wd vehicle.

The fact is people should learn to drive to the condition and surroundings and slow down when necessary.

Webber,

I have the latest Garmin Nuvi GPS which does not recognize certain commands no matter how I pronounce, and recognizes others only when I pronounce it in certain ways. I found it out through trial and error. Why don't you try the same method. Let us know how you go.
