Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well just got back from dealers.

Anyone know how much I should be able to get for the following?

- CRD Limited with Quara-Lift, Sunroof and Lux pack
- V6 Petrol Overland

The CRD is in stock and on the floor, the Overland is about a month away.

The CRD Limited, $68K - $69K. The Sunroof is a $3250 option.

Overland, not sure never seen a quote with no options or a V6 Petrol (but that would be a simple $5K deduction).
Very few on here are looking/purchased the V6 petrol.

The guy said that it would be around the $72k mark, which didn't sound too bad.

Yeah, I thought it might not be that common.

Well you are in Perth, $68-$69 included the sunroof, and if you were on the east coast with dealers prepared to play.
They have that as stock, so as per my longer post on Whirlpool, they have far less reason to discount stock they have now.

Oh, didn't realise you meant that price included the sunroof.
The wife is really keen on the sunroof, but if I can swap it for QL that will make me happy. And that's the most important thing

On another note, I was under the impression the dealers were only allocated stock once they are on the ship. But the dealer said that they know exactly what they're getting at time of build.
Is this true?

I have a petrol MY 14 Overland, fantastic car, I picked her up for $68.5k including tow pack & s/s door sills (neither of which are fitted as yet) had the car for 3wks today. I went through a auto broker. Called the dealer (southern Sydney) yesterday & they said they are expecting the tow pack in the next few days.

In Sydney I paid $73K on road for a CRD Overland that was one month out. The diesel has amazing power and economy. If I was willing to wait for my own order to go through and pick it up 3 or 4 or ++ months later I could have got it for approx $70K on road.

Hi Noons
The way I understand it is the dealers are told they can have X amount of Larados, X amount of Limited's & X amount of Overland's. The dealer selects colours & options as they think will be in demand (sell easiest). If you are a bit lucky, like I was, they can alter the spec's on one of those cars to suit a buyer if they notify the factory before the cars are locked into the production run.
Cheers
Steve

Hi snuke, thanks for the reply. I have been told by another forum member that the hayman Reece wdh will fit after a bit grinding on the edges as the radius in the mopar bar is greater than the hayman Reece. Will play around on the weekend when the wdh comes back from a friend who borrowed it for a couple of weeks.
