Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hearing about all you guy's getting your cars and how great they are is hard enough. But now, just to make it even tougher, my friend who I told I had signed up for a GC14 went to the dealer with his wife (you know just for a look). His wife saw and fell in love with Billett & Black Ltd on the show room floor and now they pick it up next week. They live next door so I am going to see it every day going up & down the street. Shouldn't be allowed. Roll on Nov/Dec.

Ha ha, this cracks me up! About 2 days before I got my 14 I saw my first 14 on the road. I felt like running home to hide out for the next 2 days until I got my truck. I couldn't imagine 3 months of seeing it everyday to remind me I don't have mine, but having said that I placed my order in March.

I feel for you

That's just not cricket.... but at the moment australia doesn't play cricket.

But look on the bright side.... they will most likely suffer the a/c problems... and when you get yours it will most likely be resolved.

You could always borrow theirs for your tassie fishing trip... and you wouldn't need to bake the days catch as they would be baked in the car on the way back to your accomodation.

Hello GForce,

Your Sill Plates look great can you please let everyone know where you purchased them from, what the stock code is and how much you paid for them.

Thank you...............JosephR

I think it is a great shame that jeep don't fit these at the factory as the door sills on the GC are very wide and would be easily scratched with constant use of shoes / boots going in and out through the door.

The quality of the plates is very good and in my opinion a must have item for your GC. Fitting is straight forward, but watch that double sided tape, its a bitc# once it's in place or just touches the sill as it sticks incredibly fast.

My advice is to use some masking tape on each side of the sill to centralise the Sill Plate, buy some extra alcohol pads for pre clean (they only give you two very small pads for the four doors) and then make sure the leading edge is in place first before sticking the top part down, once stuck it is impossible to remove the plate without damaging it.

Hope this advice has been of assistance.

Congrats Lewie! That's how I felt when I picked my Overland up. Not to spoil the party, but just keep an eye on the nervous energy, I came straight home to the garage with my truck on the recommendation of my girl. She was with me at the time and I'm glad I took her advice because I was a bit overexcited causing me to be a bit erratic

You do realise that anyone who advises delivery of a SRT on this site is obligated to allow any other fellow member to test drive it upon request?
