G'day auscop,

Give Alex a call, they definitely don't fit and Alex knows that. However, putting some pressure on him and hence he putting pressure on Jeep AU can't hurt.

Shame you had them on order pre my attempt to have them fitted by Alex.

Cheers

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

[QUOTE=SNUKE;879809]Wow, $395, does that come with a happy ending?????????

They are $66.37 per end on the Au Mopar site
https://www.mopar.com.au/Pages/Store...px?p=2&f=0&c=6

They are $60 plus freight each from a dealer in Melb
Northern Motor Group Genuine Parts items - Get great deals on Nissan, Chrysler Jeep Dodge items on eBay Stores!

$262.26 for labour is a bit excessive.
Fit them yourself, instructions advise to remove the wheels, but I am sure you do it without it, especially the fronts by turning the wheels.

Guys.

Mud flaps should only take about 2 to hours to fit by yourself. Been there done that.

Punch out a couple of the "Pop rivet type" body fasteners on the front arch, fit one/two captive bolts per side, its done and all needs to be finally fitted.

Rear is a bit more awkward with the splash cover. On the 14 model DO NOT punch out the clips. Undo the hex head self tapper and then insert the hand into the arch (surgery) to insert the necessary captive nut. Fit and then bingo. All that needs to be done then is the vertical screws that are fiddly but not impossible.

Try also looking at the Mud Flap thread (only short)

Regards

Adriwood.

Thanks Snuke. Not too sure about the happy ending though. I just ordered a set on EBay from the States for USD$109 (~AUD$120) delivered!

Thanks fourbfarmer. The $150 deal seems pretty fair. Have fun with your new Laredo!

Talking about happy endings, I've managed to purchase a 2014 Limited V6 Petrol in White with Sunroof and Luxury Package.

Delivery is estimated at 24th September, but I'll take that with a grain of salt!

I managed to swing by the old girl one last time before off to the wreckers.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yeah, a set of near new Cooper Zeon LTZ's (only 10,000km on them)

I'm contemplating whether I should ask the dealer to swap the 20" wheels for a set of 18"

Rubber is a heap cheaper, and also means I can fit a full size spare in the boot... But I love the look of the 20's!

I prefer look of a chunkier A/T tire vs the standard road tire, plus I plan on doing a bit of offroading, and some unsealed road driving in the country.

noons, If you do any sort of traveling I would recommend getting the 20" swapped. Not sure if your saw my post the other day, where a guy was driving through Alice with a GC and 20" wheels. The guy needed a new tyre fast and by the time he paid air freight it set him back $900.

With all the chatter about tow bars and with my Overland CRD due early September, I went down to the dealer to ensure he would have a tow bar ready for its arrival and he has been told that the Summit will be in Oz as a limited edition only. Didn't say when. So lets see how reliable a rumour that becomes!!

Now I need to organise my mud-flaps. I'm thinking that I'll order off Amazon from the States? Is this the least expensive option? My dealer quoted $395 fitted, but I was thinking more like $120 delivered from the US?

$120 for front and back from the dealer and fitted them myself. Took about an hour and all the instructions are in the box. Easy job
