Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It had the body colour grille with chrome inside around the openings and on the back no chrome strip, again body colour with the jeep badge in chrome. Didnt see the headlights to confirm though. I have viewed a few of the 2014 videos and in the few seconds that i had to see it, it looked very 2014 to me.

Marksy has a brilliant future
Compass? Seems strange otherwise as previously we were under the impression the first was probably due may and that build info sounded like a jeep demo

Well that would be breaking news, there were some early units that Milous spotted in production but I would be surprised if they arrived already and were shipping to Port Melb.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Red colour.

As you pointed out, cant be 100% sure as it was a quick sighting going the other way. We were travelling slow (around 40-50Km) due to traffic and they were not travelling fast the other way so it was a reasonable look at it. It certainly wasn't the older <2011 model that I am 100% sure about. I did take note of the door and tailgate after seeing the grille as it approached as it caught my attention immediately.

Anything is possible I guess, someone may have custom painted a 2011-13 model to look somewhat like a 14.

However, if they are landing here within a few months as many suggest (say May/June/July) then doing the rounds of the journos before hand makes sense, but it does feel a month or two early if its more like July/August arrival.

There are 591 12/13 GC models for sale on carsales Aus wide (all variants). Im not sure how many they shift a month? The dealer in Brisbane I spoke to the other day said the stock he has is it (approx 10-15 in total) until the next shipment which he expected in July. He didnt mention if it would be a 13 or 14 model. I'll call him Tuesday to see what line he spins me

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Could it be an SRT that you saw. They do not have the chrome grille. See the picture at the top of the page. They are the most likely looking model to the MY14. The only cars Milous had seen (in the past) were SUMMITS heading to Port Melbourne, Vic. Also interesting that your dealer is expecting a shipment in July. A few have given that date but we were beginning to feel it was going to get pushed back further. Milous has seen 400+ Aussie models just recently come off the line spread across Laredo, Limited and Overland. What we don't know is whether they are for dealership stock or to fulfill orders already in the system. It's just possible that those 400 cars may reach us by July.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hard to say webber, it certainly could have been an SRT. I really needed to do a U-Turn and follow it (stalk it) to see what it was.

I'll try the dealer tomorrow, not sure if they will be open on a Public Holiday, if they are I'll call Tuesday and post any details they provide. I'll see how the dealer reacts when I suggest that I want to place an order for a 14. Will see if they are ready to do an order or if they are elusive with details.

Getting Summits here first sort of makes sense to me as you might show off your new range topper first to entice both media and buyers. Speculation of course

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Or are you referring to the $230 above RRP?
