I stopped just a few feet from a roo standing in the middle of a road. We looked at each other for a few seconds and then he jumped straight on to the bonnet and tripped himself over. Don't ever believe you can anticipate what they will do. This one had 350 degrees of space he could have safely left via, but chose to scratch my paintwork instead.

Hi all, I ordered a MY14 Black SRT in June with deposit. I've been hassling my dealer for last 4 weeks to give me any sort of update. The standard response I get is that the vehicle hasn't yet appeared in their system so they don't have visibility of it. Some obscure process whereby Jeep Aus sends them stock lists weekly and I'm supposed to believe that through random luck my black SRT will all of a sudden appear. I asked for VIN/VON, they don't have.

Is this dealer having me on? Is there truth to this process. Even if they don't have the VIN, surely some sort of order number. It's hard to believe its "not appearing in the system" if they genuinely ordered it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Unfortunately, your dealer is not having you on. Maybe they are not being as proactive as they should be, but the process is unfortunately is crap.
What you need is not a VIN or VON but a "E" number. At the very least, your dealer should be able to confirm to you the date the order was accepted by Jeep Australia, and with that an estimated date of construction.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Bozmeg, you plight is similar to mine. I still can't get details on mine ordered. Appears that the arrangement with some dealers is that not all orders go through, they get lists from Jeep Australia for vehicles coming and then reserve one if they have a match. The problem is that dependent on colour, trim etc this could draw out for ages. I was initially told end of September but they still don't have any confirmation from Jeep Australia, which I believe has been compounded by an office move for JA at the moment, so no info is being fed back to dealers. Based on my colour and trim and the fact that I have still not got one assigned to me yet, the more I think mine will change to a factory order and not see the vehicle to 2014. Maybe I might be able to get a Summit then lol !

Thats a really good looking ECB Bullbar. I'd get one if I needed one.

But then I nearly cleaned up a couple of skateboarders and cyclists recently.

Bullbar would be Great for them!!! 10 points for cyclists and only 5 for skateboarders though.

Roos get 5 points for a night collision but 3 points for a daytime meeting. Thats because the degree of difficulty is higher of a night time because theyre harder to miss.

All this bull bar talk would be better in its own thread.

Or one of the existing ones.

ARB Bullbar Delayed

Bullbar coming

It's great ECB have put in the work and equally it's a shame that the more able companies like ARB, TJM, etc are not able to offer anything yet.

Aesthetics aside, I concur. If you've got to drive at night in unfenced areas you have to fit a bar... however it looks. For now, that is THE bar!

Cheers,
Steve
Arb are currently in the process of development. A month or so they asked if they could borrow someone's gc for a couple of weeks to measure, design and test with the lender being able to keep the bar. Their Facebook page showed a gc in kilsyth (spelling??) a couple of weeks ago, so it should be planned approximately by now and will start going into production soon!

Fingers crossed, we will most likely be going down this path on our Laredo crd purely due to the strength over the alloy and also be able to fit a winch later on. The need for protection is more important than the looks, and the ability to color match is also of great benefit to us.

Fantastic, thanks Bob. Are you ordering through Adelaide City Jeep also? They're telling me early September still. All I know is the vehicle arrived on the 13th Aug to Melbourne. Dealer won't say anything other than "call you when it's here". I won't be having anything to do with this dealer after I take the car.

Hi bozmeg not sure where in melbourne you are situated but I was in Caroline Springs jeep last week and they have a black srt with sunroof and harmon kardon sound system on the showroom floor for sale.
