Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks for clarifying Snuke, I thought that it was more along the lines of through a buyer like Stratton.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I go to from here. Rang Jeep Assist, they are closed till Monday apparently.
Seems like the old Jeep bug bear of electrical gremlins is live and well. What a disappointment !
what stiff luck. Do hope your camping trip is not ruined. My card has same contact details as SJandL so its certainly a national number. I can't believe they are closed 'till Monday. Please advise how that works out because if accurate then this is an absolutely useless service.
Your problem does not give one confidence to set out on a long trip anywhere. Let's hope your problem proves to be a very isolated one. I am now coming to the conclusion that my teething problems have been very minor so far but I am still to clock 3000K so maybe more problems are just around the corner. All I do know is that the replacement Uconnect corrected some of the problems but others have reported that software fixes for all our Uconnect problems are not that far down the track...hopefully.

Hi,
Just completed a 5200km trek from the Gold Coast to Cooktown and return. Travelled over Hiways, side roads and numerous National Park traks and the truck (MY14) Laredo V6 petrol did not miss a beat. No uconnect, a/c problems or anything. Total average fuel consumption for the entire trip was 8.6l/100km. We were absolutely thrilled as our previous car (Hyundai I35 2.4l) could only average 9.8l/100km at best and my wife was able to get it over 145km/h with ease a couple of times in passing situations.

Saw Max Steel SRT at Knox yesterday. Someone's lucky ordered has arrived and being prep'd. Looks fantastic! Goliath wheels are quite shiney, not standard matte alloy finish. Dealer said some mixed feelings from buyers, but I like them. Also, love the new 6.4L HEMI badge

I'm not a fan of the Goliaths, I much prefer the Spider Monkeys, but that is why they have options, each has their own opinion.

Thank you for your rapid reply SJandL, I checked and found I had rung the wrong number.
At present I am slowly charging the battery with a AGM compatible charger to see if it is the battery itself or something more sinister. Can't understand how it went dead flat in such a short time.
Will keep the forum informed on the outcome. I must say it has been comforting to know that JG forumites take an interest in each other. Much appreciated.

Jeep assist is run by Allianz road side assist -they are similar to NRMA.

If you cannot raise jeep assist or Allianz maybe you will need to join NRMA and send jeep the bill if it is a warranty issue.
My mistake on Jeep Assist, rang wrong number. Thanks for the advice, will keep the forum informed of the outcome.

If the battery posts are showing normal voltage it might be worth checking the battery cable connections and and the negative connection to the chassis.
Thanks nrb1748, will do when I get enough charge in the battery to move the seat forward. Is there a trick to getting at the battery, or has it been fitted by one of those Asian contortionists?

Thanks Webber, been following your 'Mills & Boon' affair with the blonde with excited anticipation. I was the dummy with Jeep Assist, wrong number.

We love the Jeep so much that it would be sad and very difficult to downgrade to a lesser tug without giving her every opportunity to redeem herself.

Hahaha... oh no! Does the electric seat need to be moved to access the battery? I think I need to head to the Range Rover Sport / Discovery 4 forum for some comfort

That why they have jump start posts under the hood.
The holden VE commodore has the battery in the boot, so also had jump start posts under the bonnet
