Yes you will need to move the seat. The battery cover has four clips on the sides near the front and rear of the cover. The rear clips are easier to release so it is better to do them first. Move the seat fully forward and lift the cover from the rear until two clips release. Then move the seat fully to the rear and release the front clips. They seem to require more effort. Then move the seat fully forward to access the battery. When moving the seat make sure it does not hit the unclipped cover until you can remove it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Went to the 4WD show in Melbourne yesterday where there was a dark (black, granite, max steel ?) limited doing the test drives around the oval. The DRLs make it really standout as classy even in more expensive company such a the new Patrol.

Strange thing was not many punters wanted rides in the GC, more often than not the driver was lapping by himself whereas the 2 Patrols and even the Colorado 7 seemed to have quite a few takers???

Gforce is a name known to all
Wheel Nut Up Date

As promised I spoke to Tracey from Chrysler Jeep Aust this morning re the information in our owners manual regarding the 176nm (130 ft lbs) torque settings for the wheel nuts on our GC's.

She contacted the Service division and they confirmed that the 176nm as stated in the Owners Manual (pg287 / 288)
is far too tight and the correct torque is as my Dealer stated, which is 130nm.
So all you new GC owners please take note of this.

The other query I had was in regard to Engine Oil, again after speaking to the Tech's she said that they recommend any brand of oil as long as it is Low Ash and the correct viscosity for our CRD Engines.

So there you have it, please be sure you check those wheel nuts as, as I mentioned earlier my Nissan Patrol was subject to a recall regarding incorrect wheel nut tension. We don't want the wheels coming of our Jeep's do we.?

I'm in Karratha so can't go for a look. Let me know if you see a Deep Cherry Red CRD Overland.
A photo would be good

Will do. I'm only 10mins away from the dock. If its not too dark when I get home tonight, I'll go check it out and take a pic.

Great work mate. I can see some snapped studs or munted alloy wheels if people miss this one. The finger pointing if this happened would be quite amusing.

Cheers,
Steve
