Has anyone bought and fitted the Rear Tray Kit to their new JGC? I'm assuming that the current accessory from Mopar fits the MY14 interior design.

Every owner should get a pre-glued replacement page mailed out immediately. Anything else is negligence, as it is feasible that 176Nm could see studs stressed to the point of snapping off on typical road impacts when at highway speed.

It won't happen though...

Hi Gforce,

I just read the owner manual NA version, re engine break in for diesel. The excerpt:

ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS
The diesel engine does not require a break-in period due to its construction. Normal operation is allowed, providing the following recommendations are followed:

Does aussie manual say the same thing or somewhat different? Some members said that engine break in is recommended based on their manuals.

Got my second letter from my dealer today... this one including a gift voucher for $750 family photo session. But still nothing about what action them or jeep australia is doing to rectify faults.

I have now got a longish list of faults that I will expect to be fixed or an effort to fix them on wednesday together with supplying and fitting the items that where originally ordered . It has nearly been 2 months since they started releasing these cars in australia... and more and more being released every day.

I will not accept that jeep australia knows about the issue and is trying to fix it .... there is a huge diffence between knowing about an issue and fixing an issue.

My view is that I purchased a car believing that the car would have been tested and for the majority of issues to be resolved prior to the delivery of the vehicle to the consumer.

I do not believe that jeep australia didn't know about the issues before the cars where released.

If when I go to collect my car on wednesday...the dealer has not attempted to fix the problems or have installed the additions as per the original contract I will be asking them how much money they will be returning to me until they supply me with a fully functioning motor vehicle as per our contract.

Funny format, here's the re-post

ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS
The diesel engine does not require a break-in period due to its construction. Normal operation is allowed, providing the following recommendations are followed:
Warm up the engine before placing it under load.
Do not operate the engine at idle for prolonged periods.
Use the appropriate transmission gear to prevent engine lugging...

dont get tricked by this offer. I got the same letter, I went to photographer and found the offer only include a 10x10 family portrait. Photographer asked me $4,000 for 3-4 nicely framed photos. actual photo session is worth 300 (which is not included in 700). It was going to cost me $1500+ get two framed 10x12 photos. I put this offer into the nearest rubbish bin I could find.

It actually made me laugh.... but I will reply tomorrow saying that I would have preferred the car to be full of diesel..... the climate control to actually work ..... and for the tow bar to have been installed given the sole purpose of purchasing the gc was to tow a boat safely...

I got my enumber 2 days after ordering, vehicle was in d1 status then. Today, it is docked in Brisbane so it can go to Sydney for me to pick it up and drive it back to Brisbane.

Lucky you

Got a call today saying that all their SRT's don't have E numbers yet, whilst all the CRD orders do? They reckon i'll have a number by next week.

Hi, yes in our owners manual (pg 59) there is a section on Engine Break-in Recommendations. ( I will quote the exact wording from the Manual).
It states that: A long break- in period is not required for the engine and drivetrain. Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500km). After the initial 60 miles (100km) speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km) are desirable. While cruising, brief full- throttle acceleration within the limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in.
Wide open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental and should be avoided.

Additional Requirements For Diesel.
During the first 900miles (1500km) avoid heavy loads, eg: driving at full throttle. Do not exceed 2/3 of the maximum permissible engine speed for each gear. Change gear in good time. Do not shift down a gear manually in order to brake. ( end quote).

So there you have it, straight from our owners manual. I have used the exact words so that others who are waiting for their vehicles will be up to speed ,so to speak.
