Great news 4bf, could you let me know who your dealer is please. Be interested to know. Our Deep Cherry Reds CRD's come off the same ship.
Exciting for you to see for the first time. Still waiting for the Summit inserts, should be here anyday now.

Called past my dealer today and what should I see, my shiny new DCR SRT sitting out the back.
She still needs to be prepped and have the tint and tow bar fitted but got a chance to take it for a lap around the block.
Pick her up Thursday.
Probably shouldn't have driven it, now i won't sleep for the next two days!

It states that: A long break- in period is not required for the engine and drivetrain. Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500km). After the initial 60 miles (100km) speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km) are desirable. While cruising, brief full- throttle acceleration within the limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in.
Wide open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental and should be avoided.

Additional Requirements For Diesel.
During the first 900miles (1500km) avoid heavy loads, eg: driving at full throttle. Do not exceed 2/3 of the maximum permissible engine speed for each gear. Change gear in good time. Do not shift down a gear manually in order to brake. ( end quote).

So there you have it, straight from our owners manual. I have used the exact words so that others who are waiting for their vehicles will be up to speed ,so to speak.

Thanks Gforce, this's perplexing. One would think diesel engine for NA market is the same as that for Aussie. But the requirement for break-in is completely different. Something is missing....

Agree, but I guess it's a slightly different market, I did read somewhere that our vehicles are spec to middle eastern standard, maybe this is why. Anyhow I must admit I do agree with the Jeep run in procedure, it can't do us any harm hey...

Picking up my Laredo CRD today. Dealer tells me that my towbar and brake controller have been fitted, however, still no reversing cameras in the country. These will be dealer fitted to the Laredo's as soon as they become available .... sigh.

Had my first dose of jeep service after dropping off my gc for it's first service....what a wonderful experience.

As I listed the faults that I wanted investigated and fixed.... his comment was "ford and hyundais have those problems.. you didn't expect it to work" ..

He also enquired if I had reported these issues... well yes... 3 days after picking it up and it would have been sooner but you weren't open... two weeks ago.... and by the way yesterday when I was ensuring that the towbar which was part of the original order was going to be installed today....

What... you are needing the towbar to be installed today as well... who did you arrange that with and your chances are slim.

After I laughed he said I could always just leave with the car now.

He was able to help me with one issue.... the issue in relation to a bubble in the tint which they arranged on the drivers door window.... his response with a smile was "you will have to take that up with the company that installed it... it isn't our problem."

I assume the dealer fitted the tint prior to delivery? Unless SA consumer laws are different to NSW, it is most definitely his problem as the contract was between the dealer and the installer.
Good to see the Jeep Australia rep for service is well deserved.

Oh my god that sounds bad new2jeep. I have one on order for consignment from NSW and will be looking for a reputable and caring jeep service point in Melbourne. Are you from Victoria, if so could you at least please nominate the suburb your dealer is from. I have to get towbar, mudflaps and some other items done after I pick up otherwise I will have to pay luxury tax on these as well, so looking for a reputable dealer in the east or south east suburbs of melbourne.

Not in victoria.... unfortunately in south australia where the dealerships are limited.

The car is a fantastic car.... the only problem is that some of the extras that we paid for in the different models we choose... do not function correctly

It is very disappointing that just a few issues leave a sour taste in your mouth... I am yet to allow anyone but family inside the car.... because of the items that don't work as they should.

I am sure that the jeep service people will advise me that other than the ac problem they have not been able to reproduce the other problems...

But give me a week... and I am sure I will be able to reproduce all problems and provide them (and others) with video evidence

My dealer best not come up with a smart ass reply like the above. This is totally embarrassing for Jeep AU not to mention the customer.
