Thanks Tim. My main concern is the oil/filter change. I don't want to be driving (and pulling a van) for 9000kms on light "run in" oil if it should have been changed at 1000kms. My dealer says that this is not the case and the service handbook says nothing about a 1000km service for the CRD. Maybe I should call another dealer(s) in my area and see what they say?

Some owners have been requesting an oil change, just to ensure any metal filings and dirt was removed. No really an issue with today's engines.
Thanks Allypally - just read your post. This backs up what my dealer said.

The oil is the same, nobody uses run in oil anymore. They all seem to use synthetic oil now from new, so it is not worth changing before 10k km. For that matter, the normal oil changes are 20k km, except for Oz, we have "harsher" driving conditons apparently.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Howdy all, just found out that JA couldn't find a vehicle for me from current orders after waiting over 6 weeks from paying a deposit and now has to be ordered direct from the factory and have a wait until the end of November, so continue to troll the forums which are informative and appreciate the input by so many and have learnt a lot. Hopefully the software bugs may have been fixed by the time mine is built. Whilst waiting I came across these steps on EBay locally in Aussie, has anyone bought these if so are they ok and would they fit a 2014. JGC Overland ?

Thanks in advance.

Ah Brisbane makes sure not to win those awards, enough southerners up here already. What do you think the old "Victoria. .. On the move" number plates were all about.

Agree, not required. The CRD's are all "hot tested" in Italy. Hot testing is usually only done in low volume production engines. All super cars are hot tested. Basically means they are run on a test bench to ensure power outputs, and that they have been put together correctly. Most will have a filter change after the test.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi everyone, been watching and scanning the forum subjects for quite sometime and have learnt a lot thanks to contributions from many. Just found out that the vehicle that JA was supposed to track down for me can't be found and is now a direct factory order so looks like I won't see mine until late November.

Came across these running rails on EBay not sure if anyone has got them for an Overland 2014 if so what is the quality like and any problems fitting ?

I think the nudge bar looks excellent on the Laredo. The extra chrome dresses up the front of your vehicle as well as its practical abilities. I am considering one but concerned it will detract from the chrome around the lower air grille on the Overland (or air dam or what ever they call that lower area). I must have missed something with your wheels being out of alignment. Very strange with a new car.

This is the response from moparone.com
The grille inserts come in 3 separate pieces. All should be here early next week. (Even before the car)

"Yes, we have one of the chrome honeycomb style kits left in stock. It is part # 68143075AB and runs at $22.69/US. Your shipping charges for Melbourne, Victoria are $52.40/US for a total of $75.09/US. The requested item ships through USPS on Priority Mail and arrives in 6 to 10 business days."

Werribee Jeep do not want to see the cars again for 10,000km unless you have to drop it back for Uconnect replacements etc.
