A few scholars know he sailed into Cooktown to repair his ship but how many know he landed at the "Town of 1770" in May 1770? He thought it a desolate place and sailed out again after collecting water, a Turkey and plant material. If only he had known it was to become paradise he would have "set up shack".
You are right, a very nice place. Much better than Sunbury! Hehe..
Its funny how everyone has something good to say about Qld....
Btw... you will one day enjoy the capital gain you would have got on your apartments... that whole region has been under valued for so long.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi All,

For car with air suspension, is side step a worthy accessory, apart from easy reach to roof? Your opinions are welcome.

thanks

Iboughtajeep,
Nice to hear you are familiar with the area. Discovered it quite by accident about 10 years ago. We like the fact we can sort of claim we are Queenslanders (or do we need to own the properties for another 50 years to be accepted as locals).

They know the exact location of where the Captain stepped ashore. Its out on that point.
No Gold Coast High Rise here. View from our top floor which is only Level 3.

Ok, not Jeep pics but a brief relief from the car chat.

You get what you are willing to accept.

Wonder what ACCC would think about jeep not providing this critical safety item.
Totally agree. Could have had mine this week but told them not to bother calling me until the 'whole' car is there.

Very sensible - I bet they would not let you pay 90% of the price to cover the missing bits.

A man with nerves of steel. What if they said the bits & pieces were still 3 months away?

Hope the link works. A recent post with pics of the MY13 & MY14. They both look very smart.

I've been bitten once - I'd wait.

I'm lining up (maybe) for a replacement for my MY12 just after Xmas, but I won't be placing an order or taking delivery until everything is squared away.

Well I was initially told delivery was gonna be at the end of November. Hopefully by then all the issues with Uconnect and A/C will be sorted. And without a towbar the car is useless to me. Plus I went through a broker which included the car being delivered to my driveway with a full tank of fuel, defeats the purpose of having to drive it back there.

Ive seen that people are emphasising the full tank. Is it common to get a new car without? I have never bought thru a broker nor requested a full tank on delivery, and yet the 15 odd new cars I have bought over the years have always had a full tank. Maybe they have ripped me off by not filling the tyres with air?...

No full tank of fuel on delivery either.
Questioned the dealer, and his response seemed plausible.
The cars are shipped to Australia with additional fuel loaded at the factory.
When I picked up my SRT, it still had a little under half a tank, and it had been to the window tinted and detailer. Maybe because they have a bit of fuel in them already, it's not a priority when delivered to the dealer, as they generally have enough file to do their thing.
I also pressed the dealer to collect my car as early as possible, and they hadn't had a chance to take it to get filled.

My dealer has made a note in my service file for a full tank of gas at the first service, so no complaints.
