See the 'no tow hooks' thread, that should give you an idea etc.

Have noticed a couple of things in the past couple of days
The brake dust from the Brembos is terrible. Spent an hour scrubbing the Goliath rims when I washed it. Might have to look into an alternative brake pad
The Uconnect still has the standard gremlin - weird temp operation, apart from that the HK stereo sounds great, and SATNAV seems to work really well.
Found one build quality issue so far. Plastic rivets are used to attach the wheel arch liners and bumpers, found two rivets that didn't take up properly, but probably being a little pedantic.

Missed out on Stop and Go, but love the ACC as is.
8 speed auto on the HEMI is amazing, but the tiptronic style gear selector takes some getting used to.
The fuel economy seems ok so far, travelled around 200km and used around 1/3 of a tank - all city driving so far.
No, you are not pedantic, it should have been detected at pre-release quality control check. However, it is minor and easily remedied.
With respect to Sat Nav. You state works well but is that with manual inputs or with Voice recognition. In other words, when you press VR button and call out, "navigate to 6 Pitt Street, Sydney" does it work without any manual interaction other than pressing the VR button?

JA said the front recovery hooks are currently jumping through Australian Standards. Should be at the dealers in 4-5 weeks.

When you say hooks, are you talking plural, ie not that stupid singular hook that they designed for the '12?

Dealer had my SRT all of last week to rework the flares & get them to align correctly .. Back in there again today for a final adjustment.. Dealer has a few more SRTs that are giving him major grief! I'm expecting the flares that have been glued & fastened with double-sided tape to come apart as soon as the weather heats up!

Towbar installation on the SRTs is a major issue.. Whole rear bumper & flares need to be removed to install the concealed towbar!

VR works for per entered Home destination.
I can say "navigation", then "go home", and the nav supplies the route.

JA person said "hooks". Unsure if that means both sides? They were quite helpful polite. Here is their #1300 133079. Feel free to call and ask them. The more of us that ask the better I think.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Still waiting for the release of my MY14 Laredo CRD from Prix Car service to the dealer at frankston.

It arrived in Melbourne on the 14th August and still not at the dealer.
After ordering it on the 15th November last as well!!

Bloody poor service that is.

Anyway, nothing I can do except bitch and whinge to the appropriate people, is there? (have done that)
And wait and wait and..............................

Can those of you very lucky MY14 owners who have towbars fitted and are towing tell me what mirrors you have for towing.

I have my Aussie truck tow mirrors from my last tug (Hyundai Santa fe) and wonder if they will fit? Hope so because they are excellent tow mirrors.

I will need a refresher course in towing its been so long!! And of course those belated rear vision cameras are still not here for the Laredo ... or are they??

So who knows, I may get a new MY14 by Chrissy, make a great Chrissy present, cook may tie a big red bow around it and park it in the driveway.

Hey Hymer, at least I can share in how you are feeling. Our Laredo CRD is also sitting with Prix Cars and the dealer called last Thursday to tell me it had been delayed again. At least they called but as you well know we are all trying to juggle existing cars and then getting our new ones. Plus hoping that everything will get installed before pickup. We were supposed to be able to pick up end of July and the dealer knows that we are towing a van to Queensland on the 23rd of September. It is not leaving me much time to get some km's on the car now before we head off.

I have used Staun deflators. I found that they can be un reliable if you use them infrequently and they are rolling around in your toolbox for too long. I tend to rely on my ARB deflator as it has a guage, deflates quicker than the stauns and you can easily keep an eye on progress .
