Cheers.
Lets know if that upgrade fixes the VR button with Navigation. Have only read reports of Nav working with manual inputs. Yet to read of anyone that can use voice control for, "navigate to 6 Pitt Street, Sydney" and actually have it respond fully. They have this feature in the US and iinstructions are in the Uconnect manual so it is obviously capable of carrying out this function.

Have you tried using an American accent, might work then.

There has been some discussion about whether Jeep Australia hav ever clearly stated that VR works for navigation. I'm not sure what the consensus was, but the latest (my2014) brochure states:
"Hands-free voice command for phone, audio, climate, navigation and more"
Russell

EDIT: Reading on: "Use your voice to enter a complete address in one step....."

A lot of members on this site are now driving MY14's. You would think just one of you would have come on here and confirmed that Voice Command with Navigation works. Hello out there!!!!!!

Hi Webber - without going back through heaps of posts I can't recall - have you reported the nav VR problem, and did they agree it is a problem?
thanks,
Russell

It works only if you set the address you want to go as your home address... then you can say go home... and it will map the directions to go home... but you can only set your home address by a manual input... so no benefit at all...

When my VR button was playing up it was in relation to the media. At that point in time that Button, voice temperature control and the phone buttons were playing up. They exchanged my Uconnect which gave me Voice Control for phone, voice control for Radio tuning, control of temperature. Voice control over music is very limited. It knows Suspicion by Elvis and can find Abba under "artists" but that's about all at the moment. Hot & cold through the vents somewhat inproved too. However, this was fixed by replacing the Uconnect and I think it was before they got the new software update which has recently been reported. I had not tested the voice control for navigation prior to having the Uconnect replaced. So, after all the above waffle. It appears no-one knows if voice control works with Nav.

I think I did read that back in the past. However, I am sure it is meant to be far more comprehensive than that. My manual makes no reference to it being limited to just getting you home. I do not think that is it's intention either. I am waiting for more experiences to be reported here before taking it up with my dealer again. Surely, if it is fully functional in the States it should adapt to here.

Unhappy Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The jeep left on the back of a tow truck this morning. The DPF filter said it was 100% full and needed to be driven at highway speed to be cleared, but the throttle control sensor kicked on and put it into limp mode. Locks the trans into 4th gear and cannot go over 75kmh. Won't get looked at till Monday but they are trying to say dirty fuel caused the initial problem.

What that translates to is them saying that they won't cover it under warranty.
