Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Does anyone happen to know when the next ship carrying GC is scheduled to leave for Sydney?

Hi Milous,
Any idea of where they're destined?
There aren't that many RHD markets - OZ being one of a few.
Could some of these be cominig to OZ on the next vessel????
Thanks, Dm

Easy to find out yourself, 200sxr.
Just enter the details in this and you can find out the ship, port left, route, arrival date etc.
No problems;
Schedules Selection

Dont put in Sydney in the box, use either Newcastle or port Kembla. Sydney doesnt want them.
Use Baltimore, Marylands as the departure port in the USA
Easy as.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Has anyone been able to get there hands on these Mopar Rock Rails (Trailhawk Style). Part No is 82213525AB.

Jeep Au has this accessories brochure with the rails listed in it, but it also has the tow hooks, which makes me doubtful about its authenticity.

They're bloody lazy pricks when it comes to information. People put more effort into an Ebay listing for a $2 phone accessory then Jeep AU.

Hahaha... that's an unfortunately hilarious truth!

I'm interested in a set of those rails too. Side steps are not protection, and if I'm going to fit something that will reduce my sill clearance even one millimetre, it has to offer some "insurance".

Kev. has a set, but it sounds like he lucked into them. There's a set on eBay for $1450 (retail I recall), but they are pick up only and "over East".

Cheers,
Steve

I realised the lazy pricks months ago Bigskiddy, that brochure is a USA brochure and half the gear there doesnt relate to OZ anyway. Thats if they ever can get it here that is.
Look how long Chrysler/Fiat/Jeep/Dodge/RAM/ Alfa etc to provide MY14 JGC info in the first place and look how damned long it took them to upgrade their website with that info. As well, it was all USA graphics and specs, not OZ.
My MY14 arrived in Melbourne 15th August (4 weeks this coming Thursday) and it still isnt at the Frankston dealers yet!!!!

Do you think they read this Jeep Garage Forum and a bit of payback is going on???

Oh well, all the upgrades and patches and VR fixes and glitches should be in place by the time I FINALLY get it!!

The Tugela left Baltimore a couple of days ago and is currently in Savannah with my car. After a cruise across the Pacific visiting Panama, Tahiti, New Zealand and Noumea, it is due in Brisbane on 7 October and then Newcastle a few days later.

Well well well...I dropped by a Jeep dealer today & asked the rep about the U-Connect & how it worked.

Turns out (according to him) that the VR can understand navigation instructions for all NSW streets. It's a shame I didn't ask him for a demo

Am I missing something....

If so I wouldn't take their advice of filling a CRD with diesel. putting air in the tyres instead of jelly or any other piece of advice.

I agree snuke - castle hill sales people are hopeless, and their servicing is too expensive. No idea why anyone would use them.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Not Castle Hill... Five Dock.

Coming back from the city, thought I'd see what they had. Told me that I can't get my hands on an SRT till March (expect mines in Nov).

Apart from the navigation, the rep seemed to know that the Jeep did NOT have lane departure warning.

However, seeing as he was confident that the VR would recognize Oz street addresses, I should have asked whether it had "heads-up display" as well

Ah well that was my Sunday

Rear bumper lights
Does anyone know if / when the lower rear bumper lights come on and how?
The ones on my SRT appear to have lamps and electrical wiring but I haven't seen them come on.
Any ideas?
