Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Generally speaking, it should take about 10 days on average to clear Prix Cars.
Things that hold up the clearance can be
* Quarantine Issues. Grass seeds in the tires was the main issue over a year ago.
* Damage during shipment. If found, Prix Cars will do the repairs.
* Software upgrades. I believe these are done at Prix Cars, not the dealers on new cars.

I understand that Allypally,

But the thing that gets up my nose is WHY the dealer and senior Chrysler management here in Victoria CANNOT be upfront and let me know what the hold up is!!

The crap that "Its in the Build process" doesnt wash.

If its waiting for a software upgrade.........TELL ME!
If its got grass seeds and its a Quarantine issue.........TELL ME!
If its damaged during shipment ........TELL ME!!

(Even more so then I can decide if i even want it depending on the damage.............. BUT whats the chances of them informing me that it was damaged!!)

Its one month (4 weeks .......28 days) on Sunday since it landed in Melbourne.

I have had various responses from Jeep Garage folk that range from 3 days to 10 days for dealer delivery from landing. Hmmmmmmmmmm, wonder why I'm so SPESHULLL.??

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Am I getting psychotic, schizophrenic, non compos mentis or just seeing reds under every bed.

I just tuned into Jeep Australia website and although I have been a little uncomplimentary regarding the administration of Chrysler/Fiat/Jeep/Dodge/RAM/Alfa oz etc there have been far worse comments than mine.

I now find that i cannot make comments on the Jeep site, I can read the comments and all their propaganda but I cannot make comments. I can read other comments but no area for me to respond or comment.

There is no "Write Something" field.

Is this normal for other Jeep Garage posters or am I barred from commenting on Jeep Australia Facebook site.

Maybe I have missed something here. I hope I have. If Ive been barred then there is no natural justice being applied for me.

Can othe JG members let me know. I am very sad.

Has anyone else identified any paint fading. I have a 20cm by 5mm line on the rear spoiler that is substantially faded on one of the creases (bends)

I am very novice with Facebook but had no problems making comments on facebook, I am trying to get a straight answer when JA will announce about the Summit being available here. I put a question on JA Facebook site last night with no problems. Not sure what you meant by "there is no"Write Something" field" - this field will not appear until you are signed into Facebook.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just ordered the Summit chrome grille replacements like Hymer did, as I to don't really like the Laredo slit grille, I prefer the Overland honeycomb, but for some reason you can buy the chrome ones for less than half the price of the black textured ones? Because I want to keep the dark looking mean appearance of the front it looks like a can of spray paint will be needed from the hardware shop

Even with a good etch primer, you're going to see a fair bit of chipping within a very short time... especially in your location.

All the dudes in the US are using a product called Plasti-Dip. I wonder if its slightly better for your application, as it might have a bit of "give" when subject to impact. If so, this would definitely result in less chipping.

Hey if you come to Perth I'll swap you with my Overland one

Cheers,
Steve

I can still post comments on the page. So maybe you were blacklisted, which seems improbable, as I make worse comments than you do. I just posted that their customer services phone number is advising that they are closed as they work only between 8:45-17:00. According to my watch, it is only 16:00hrs.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Got my Falken WildPeak 275/65r18 tyres on Saturday.

They are a massive tyre. Pictures don't do them justice.
They have a slight hum to them, but nothing that's annoying.

They don't rub anywhere and it even fits fully deflated in the spare wheel well. You do have to remove the storage bins (I plan on trimming these to fit).

The lid sits about 5mm from flush - not noticeable.

Okay, an update to my previous post.

Rang about no ability to VR a address. They said bring it down. They put pc on, and apparently a sensor/antenna is being interfered by the local radio? I said okay. The fix is to relocate the antenna away from the radio. They have done it before I was told. Then it all should work.
Regarding my wheel alignment, I asked again about the wheel alignment setting I showed them in the UConnect and the fact they didn't realize it was there. They finally admitted that they are learning on the fly with the new JGC.
I said, as long as they are up front and honest, then I'm happy to bring the vehicle back to them.
The A/C is so much better with the software upgrade to the HVAC and the flash upgrade.

Will let you all know what hapoens once I book it back in.

.
I then trust they are receiving apprentice wages, and naturally charging accordingly? Why not send them a invoice for supplying training materials?
I bet these are the guys who have received "Master Jeep Mechanic" training from Jeep Australia.

I understand your point of view. The only saving grace is that it is all warranty with no out lay except time. :hands in the air:
I've been in so regularly that the techs know me by name.
I'll sort this out, one way or another.
