Giving up on expecting to fit rear recovery hooks, just bought a tow bar recovery hitch instead. this will do till 2016 when the rear recovery hooks will probably be available in Oz for the MY14.

You may have to bore out the pin hole as on mine it is about 1-2mm too narrow, and the pin will not fit easily.

It was sent to the wrong dealership? I wonder what they thought when it turned up - maybe an early Christmas? "Cool, we didn't order this but we'll take it anyway"

Glad it was sorted and you finally have it. It sounds like you have a good thing going with your dealership as well which is great to hear.

Enjoy and I hope that the Gremlins don't bite. I think, from your previous posts, that you're planning a trip somewhere soon with it (or did I dream that?).

FBF, thats a funny one. Sent to the wrong dealer??
Havent they heard of E Numbers and VIN's? And Stock orders??
Reminds me back in 1971 when I first come down to Victoria from NSW.
Building Michelton Winery at nagambie,, waiting for specialist bricklayers from melbourne experienced in doing arches in the cellars. (European brickies)

Supposed to be there Monday, thousands of antique bricks waiting for them.... waiting......... waiting....waiting........ (Sounds like waiting for the MY14!!!)

Finally turned up on the Thursday.... how come???????

Melbourne told them to come to Nagambie but because of the language problem they went to Mt Gambier and tried to find the winery there!!

So what is atown or suburb that sounds like KNOX?? or KNOX CITY even??

Keep it clean folks

Bluey

Well Maryborough in rural Victoria received a wondrously large train station. Everyone was amazed...

It was supposed to be for Maryborough Queensland

So having heard all the horror stories I'm going to share a good news story about Alex at Waitara and to a lesser extent Ozzie from the service section.

I've shared the story of my purchase through Alex, but a quick recap was that it was through the Aussie bulk buy organised by SNUKE. I had to break early from the bulk buy to make sure I got my GC before a road trip that I had planned in late August. Alex managed to secure my Overland CRD by early August. He was easy to deal with, although at times a little loose with the paperwork(nothing that couldn't be overcome easily) and I would definitely deal with Alex again.

Yesterday was the final touches to my GC with the mud flaps added to my beast. Early on he brought up that the technical department advised the front mud flaps couldn't be fitted. He asked me what I wanted to do and I said I would get back to him. After I queried the issue on here, it became apparent that the front mud flaps can be fitted as long as they were altered. I emailed Alex a photo that was supplied by another JG member(thank you) and he organised it with the service department.

They put aside a set of mud flaps and we set a date I could bring in my GC. Alex organised a loaner vehicle(Kia Sportage, I couldn't wait to get back in my GC) which was appreciated. On arrival at the service centre I went through the items to be looked at(Alex had included these from an earlier email) and then they offered me a lift to the sales department. On arrival the Kia was organised and I was out of there.

Whilst out, I got a call from Ozzie to double check that I was happy for them to alter my front mud flaps. When I got back he ran through everything. One issue that I had was over sensitive front sensors. They couldn't fault it but Ozzie organised a technician to ride with me in my GC. The bastard of s thing wouldn't replicate the issue. Ozzie and the technician both told me to bring it straight in when it does it again. The both said its not that we don't believe you, we just need it to be producing the problem so they can diagnose what is the cause.

All in all, an above expectation experience which I think deserves recognition.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I ordered an Overland CRD a couple weeks ago and was told that it will arrive in Australia mid November and delivered the end of November. After reading through the posts and delays people were having, I was starting to think that the date I was given might be optimistic.
Eventually I received the commission number from the dealer and PM'ed it to Milous. He replied with the good news the Jeep was already on the ship and would be arriving at Port of Brisbane 9th October.
After telling the dealer what I know they agreed as long as there are no delays, by the end of October, I will take delivery of the Overlander.

Hi all. After delivery in July and 4500 km on the clock, I have to say my Overland CRD is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I now have started to travel with our Camper Trailer and want to start the journey into 4WD territory and head into what used to be Toyota Territory. I've looked at the option from ECB, but I am not sure if I want to change the front appearance of the vehicle. Not sure when ARB will come up with their design and of course the big question about tow hooks, it would be great for a solution sooner rather than later. One question I would like to pose to all at JG, has anyone looked into fitting a bash plate to the front of the vehicle. I already have the Adventure Pack fitted, but I want protection right at the front of the vehicle. I'm yet to see anything local or on Mopar, so I'm wondering if anyone has looked into this. Solutions or your thoughts on this one would be appreciated.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks for your well wishes guys, don't worry l had a little chuckle over the whole wrong dealer thing myself, if l didn't believe in coinsidences then l may have been suspicious because about 15 min after writing a complaint on Jeeps FB page about how long my car was taking in Prixcar l got a call saying ooops we found your car lol
But after talking with the dealer l'm pretty sure it was a genuine coinsidence. It's just that with the farcical way JeepAu has introduced this model you can't help having that tiny bit of doubt.
And yes we are planning a trip but just a short hop for about a week, not towing yet, we sold our campervan and we are now saving for an ensuite van and we have no problems about the size of said van as we now have a fantastic car with lots of grunt. Love love love this car, just wondering if anyone has purchased seat covers for their Laredo yet, l want to keep the beastie in good nick, so any info would be welcome.
Thanks again guys.

The front passenger side still fits fine it is just not held in place by the pin.

However, I choose to leave my original carpet mats under the slush mats because the carpet ones are about 10cm longer (into the footwell) so none of my slush mats are held by the locating pin anyway.
I have a my13 and it has 2 pins on both the Drivers and the passengers side. Will be very interested if they do actually bring out some with two holes for the passengers side as at the moment I as well just lay it In place (which actually works ok)
