Hmmmm....as I suspected. We collected the van and drove from Epping to Macedon Ranges. As it was new it was empty; under 2t. The car is going in for the day on Friday. I have already asked for the coolant to be checked. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I tow a 2250kg nautique ski boat and my temp rises to just above 3/4 whilst going up the hill on the freeway out of Adelaide to the river Murray.
It is a very long steep hill but. Tows it very easy

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

When I push the brake override on my brake controller only the left hand brake light comes on.
Is this normal or has the dealer done a doggy with my tow bar wiring?
I pulled the rear trim out and inspected the tow bar wiring and the loom was spliced in to the factory wiring, I thought the tow bar loom would be all plug in connections.
What do you guys think?

Thanks guys. Great info. Fluid level was below lowest point when we got home. Suggests a leak?

Read back on this thread. Tons of people have been waiting for official my14 Tow harnesses. It's not surprising that dealers are manually splicing. I don't see an issue with it as long as they do a good job. I hope they didn't use Scotch locks. Got a photo of the splice job?

Xdra10... if you have a white gc 2014... you definitely have a nice setup with the nautique boat.... I drooled when I drove past it a few weeks back.... if it was yours that was parked on main north road near atlantic video.... any chance you where heading to the twister ski shop...

Otherwise there is two lucky bast***'s in adelaide... looks like I will have to keep up with the smith's... and get the expensive part of the rig

No there are 2 lucky bast***'s in Adelaide. I was at twister ski shop that day and saw the 2014 white gc with the red G23 nautique. I have a 2014 white gc but have a blue nautique sport 200.

I believe they should not be able to splice the wiring on the my2014 due to the can bus system, that's why I am having only one brake light come on.

Ahh. Then it depends on where they spliced to. It wasn't to where the connector for the tow harness is? That would be the sensible place.

The spliced in to the wiring behind the left hand boot trim( behind torch) did not look like the trailer connector though. There is also a wire connected behind right hand indicator light.
Looks like a very neat job but I feel it's not correct.

Don't the cargo ships dock first in Auckland and cross the ditch? So no extra route to take so to speak.

Someone's making a buck (Would that be Clive?) That is sarcastic and rhetoric by the way.

They are indeed expensive. Just did a search on that site and checked out a 14 Laredo $70490!!!!!!

Mind you I did notice the tow hooks already fitted!!

Last time i was in NZ (a few years ago) i noticed that even new Commodores and Falcons were really expensive compared to back in Oz. But the Jap turbo imports were quite cheap.
