Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yeah - not sure what's going on with the tow hooks in NZ. They seem to be a standard feature over there. Why oh why, did Chrysler Aust decide they wouldn't be a standard feature here is a mystery. Maybe not enough sticky-up pointy mountains in OZ coupled with a lack of snow over here - Obviously I'm being facetious but I don't know? It seems silly.

I also noticed that an SRT has a starting price of $116k - Guess they won't be selling many of them.

Jap imports are very cheap in NZ. The cars are generally less that 3 years old, pass through NZ compliance relatively easily and are cheaper all round. Except everything is in Japanese. Mum's Rav 4 came with very low KMs and a good price but you had to ignore the Japanese Nav system and symbols everywhere. She was happy though.

It's very odd though.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Guys I just wanted to give some recognition to those behind this great forum / garage. I realised 48 hours ago that I should have signed up to level 4, not level 3 so I could get a build sheet. Sent messages through and within an hour of paying the difference via Paypal, I had been upgraded to Level 4. My Overland came off the production line 24 hours ago and great now seeing progress, and hopefully will catch the next ship bound for Melbourne. Woke up this morning and there was message from Milous with my build sheet attached.

I have for a long time been a big fan of Tripadvisor for holiday info, now also a big fan of the Jeep Garage, not just for the initial build deliver info but also ongoing info.

Thank you to all those behind the Jeep Garage forum.

Yeah Snuke, you live and learn. Will see how much I use over the next 12 months and then renew as life instead of 12 months.

See yours is on the train to Curtis Bay for the ship ride. Have you any idea when the next ship leaves or what the frequency is for ships to Aus. I see mine is New Boston waiting for train transfer, hoping like hell it makes the next ship here !

Only twice a year, and we missed the last one for this year, so we have to wait until Jan.

No, no idea, it is what it is.

That is very strange, because that is the same cover as the PDF one we all have (https://www.dropbox.com/s/a8medulsc2...ns%20Guide.pdf), yet there is no U-Connect page in the PDF catalogue like you have.

No Snuke - The PDF we have is a separate little booklet that is glued into the inside last page of the big brochure.

Tell them that you will be renting a vehicle and claiming the full amount if their report cannot be interdependently verified Advise them that you will be advising several media outlets if their claim is false. I personally would have gone ballistic by now, as this is so wrong on so many levels. I would have been speaking tot he CEO of CJD and demanding some sort of action. This story just makes me sick to think that Jeep are treating customers like this.
So after our issue of "low fuel" we've copped a $231.35 bill from jeep for starving the engine and a not very happy mother.... So we've dealt with jeep customer service and have advise that the car will be going on a truck backload to Perth and that if any costs incurred and faults are found we will be recovering all costs and the silly bugger verbally agreed. (At the end of the day, he has made a verbal contract between two parties as a representative of cjd, and hence they will need to fulfill their part of the agreement!)

we have also told them that we'd like a copy of the initial voice recording to their hotline, but apparently it's company policy that they cannot give that out unless they've been subpoenaed which just seems ludicrous to me.

So watch this space for more news. I'm going to be flying over to Perth end of next week to make sure it all is fixed and that the Perth dealer can find the issue before driving it 780kms home. It's pretty bloody clear that the 'remote' dealer hasn't got any clue at all.

Not good news. I don't want to put the white flag up yet but not looking good as your experience is now fitting in with other reports. Was Shannon confused or telling "porkies"? I am going to go for confused or misunderstanding but I have been searching the cupboards for that white flag I have here somewhere. I will come back on this one.
