Yes well, I think the time has come to sell my toy (Porsche). It is alot faster than the ZEEP and probably faster than the SRT.... but just totally impractical with kids. I have a Hilux as my daily drive, but it doesn't quite compare to the GC. the 8 speed and torque are quite addictive. I did stumble across the Wrangler Ute, but our local Jeep dealer tells me its not built in factory. It comes as a kit that they would have to get contractors to build. It is a shame...... could see myself in a Wrangler JK8 with the 3.0 CRD and 8 speed..... would be an absolute killer.

Creatit.

To be honest, I think mine is also pretty crappy. It looks like a fish eye out of the back. Nowhere near as good as the one I drove on the previous model as a test drive.

At night it is absolutely useless.

When fitted it was directed so far down all I could see was the number plate top. Have "adjusted" it but the resolution is still crap.

Adrian.

I must admit, I too find the 2013 far better than the 2014 regarding resolution of the rear camera.

Not sure if the feed is going through some compression or not, but it looks rather ugly.

Thanks Adrian, was hoping it was just a dud but looks like it is not the case. It is definitely crap when the service manager agrees that it would be better off without it as he couldn't use it to park the jeep whilst they had it at the dealership today. Pretty disappointing when you pay so much for a car ( which is an awesome vehicle ) and Jeep Australia rush and skimp in no doubt an attempt to save some dollars. Will be writing to the dealership to see what can be done as it is a joke.

Quickie: Does anyone have a source of OEM TPMS sensors which can better the price of $100 for 4x sensors, landed in Australia?

Nelly piedade... mine is at 2.6.... god I hate the way it is shown..... but if you quickly change to the other unit measurement you can see it in the normal measurement type (normal for me) but remember to change back or you will get a few speeding tickets.

Createit.... love my reversing camera and it's resolution....day or night I can comfortably reverse to 10 cm without using mirrors (find the night time vision as good as the day). I will try and take some photos today for you to compare. I take the camera they install in the laredo would be the same as in the limited (oops on second thoughts we are talking about jeep australia... so it may not be)

Now I'm starting to see why the extra $10k for the Limited over the Laredo.

I spoke to a Jeep salesman last week (not my dealer) told him about the hold up with the cameras and he said, "What do you mean?? You can fit any camera on the back, no need to wait for the actual Jeep one."

Perhaps some dealers are buying cheap ones off Ebay just to get the cars out. They are modifying 2013 wiring looms (without success). Wouldn't put it past them.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Goes back to what I said ages ago for all those prospective GC owners - don't take delivery of your Jeep until everything is perfect. Camera, tow bar whatever. Past experience would say the chances of getting your dealer or Jeep Australia to get these things sorted out in a timely fashion after you have taken delivery are pretty much zero.

Another vote for the camera being very low quality during daylight and next to useless at night, very disappointing.
