I tried this option only to find that the fuse block in my Laredo is not pre-wired to accept the fuse relocation.

Had my rear vision camera fitted by dealer last week; what a difference it makes

Dealer also upgraded Uconnect software to correct Synch Heating issues; all seems good as this stage

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Given that I am down to about 6 weeks before I finally get it, I am starting to think about things I need to do, tow bar, protection mats, side steps, oil etc.

Not sure about others in Melbourne but mine has been brokered via a fleet buyer and is coming via the Sydney dealer. Obviously it is not an option to go to Sydney each time it needs service or warranty issues so am looking for a reliable and caring Jeep service centre to look after my baby. We live in Lysterfield at the moment and moving to Cranbourne in about 12 months so any recommendations for dealer service in Frankston, Knox, Berwick, Mornington or Chadstone would appreciated. I was thinking about starting a relationship with a Jeep service centre and getting to supply and install towbar, wiring etc, and mudflaps after I take delivery. Thanks for the suggestions, I have now found a local supplier for Mobil 1 oil that I will buy, not many round !

Hi Hymer, This is one of the first things I will need to change when I get mine. All the cars I have owned have had a normal mirror on the drivers side because I want a "real" view of what's happening - always. Honestly, I don't like the whole "objects are actually closer than how they appear in the mirrore" thing . As for the passenger side mirror, I have always been able to cope with a slight convex angle.
I know the mirror alone can be replaced. You only need to remove the mirror backing plate. Alternatively, you may be able to get a flat mirror to the same shape and use commercial grade double sided tape to attached straight over the original mirror.....

Mine was built, left factory and arrived at the docks before yours, so no doubt with several hundred others to fill that ship before yours arrived later.

How are you seeing what ship it will leave on?

Snuke, try this link out, shows schedule for ships, updated daily, can reconcile back to estimated arrival time to Aus to work out what ship cars are scheduled to be on.

Mine is also at Curtis bay waiting for a boat to Sydney, I think our cars may have missed the TONSBERG which is due to leave on the 27th. The next boat is the Taiko leaving port on the 7th/8th Oct.

Bluey
Once you retrain yourself of old habits I think your appreciate the convex mirrors on both sides. The Pathfinder I had had this setup and it was great. When changing lanes if you could see the same vehicle in the side mirror and interior mirror it was safe to change lanes. Backing trailers and caravans, especially in a straight line made easier because both R/H mirror and L/H mirror are both the same.

Ok this is how it works, see page 132 - 133 of your manual. First find the fuse location for the rear panel power socket, when you remove the fuse you will notice that in the same slot (which is elongated) there are three contact pins, just move the fuse up into the upper end of this same slot and you will now have a totally live power socket ( ignition on or off).
I have done this on my Limited and I have tested it with a multimeter and I now have 12 volt power with the ignition off.

PS: I would be very surprised if a Laredo and a Limited had different fuse blocks.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I am not sure if this is the correct thread for this question but I tried search and could not find any information about the issue.

Driving my Overland Diesel to work this morning, I got the following message on the cluster:

"Exhaust filter nearing full. Drive safely at highway speed to remedy". The car has lost the power and stays in 4th gear all the time. The temperature gauge goes to higher than normal. Engine light on the right and a flashing icon on the left are on. I had to keep driving for about 12 KMs. I only picked up the car last week and have only done 280 KMs so far. Never driven diesel before so not sure what to do.

Any help?

I remember reading somewhere before that this has happened to almost brand new vehicles and is a result of the vehicle having been parked for too long with engine running confusing the self learning on board systems.

Think someone else had this problem recently and either went back to the dealer or disconnected and reconnected the battery to reset ????
