Thought the external mirrors had defrost function, don't think that defrost will work with a stick on mirror over the top ??

These replacement mirrors also come with a hair dryer to plug into the AC port.

Driving my Overland Diesel to work this morning, I got the following message on the cluster:

"Exhaust filter nearing full. Drive safely at highway speed to remedy". The car has lost the power and stays in 4th gear all the time. The temperature gauge goes to higher than normal. Engine light on the right and a flashing icon on the left are on. I had to keep driving for about 12 KMs. I only picked up the car last week and have only done 280 KMs so far. Never driven diesel before so not sure what to do.

Any help?
Well... spoke to service centre. They advised take to the nearest Jeep Service Centre. I am close to Penrith. Penrith Jeep Dealer told me they won't be able to assist since I did not buy the car from them. Called Jeep Assist. They advised not to drive the car. A tow truck has been organised to pick up the car tomorrow some time between 08:00 am to 04:00 pm.

I will be extremely upset if I could not get the car back tomorrow afternoon. You expect some peace of mind after spending $81k to buy new car. Less than 280 KMs and car is being towed to the service centre. Its not only upsetting but also embarrassing when you have tow truck at your door to pick up a brand new car.

I down graded from BMW X5. Never had any issues with X5. I am already missing it.

Good luck with that one guys, we are still trying to suss out what is wrong with our one... It's currently in Perth now (where we actually wanted the car to go first, but against jeep Australia's customer service policy). Possible faulty fuel gauge or fuel module in the tank.... Will find out more tomorrow!

Ansamoiz,
I hear you, 500km into my Jeep experience I had the heater hose come loose (I.e not fitted correctly) and drain the cooling system.
Deep Cherry Red SRT on the tow truck 6 days after picking it up is not the best experience.
When I spoke to Jeep Assist I was also told that the roadside assistance only cover towing for 7km.
Might have to sell the house and move closer to a dealer!!!,

Do the diesels come with a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter).

If you have a message saying "Drive safely at highway speed to remedy" then this is what is required to clean your DPF. All you need to do is go for a drive on a local freeway/highway for 20-30mins and drive normally at the speed limit (100kph would be good). This "burns off" the particulates in the filter. All diesel cars with a DPF require this from time to time. The filter "fills up" when all you do is city stop start driving.

There is NO reason why Penrith Jeep cant service your car. Makes NO difference where you bought it! But if that's their attitude, best to avoid them anyway.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Agree - no reason why Penrith cannot deal with your car. You should report them to jeep HQ, the MTA, NRMA and anyone else you can think of. When my car got towed at 3000km it went to a dealer that did not deliver it. There is no issue just jeep Penrith proving yet again what crap service they have.
