That really does suck. I'd be ringing the jeep CEO office on Monday.

I presume it is a reception issue as it only does it on AM and typically when I am near Railway crossings, high voltage power lines etc. Is this something I should keep pushing with the dealer - so far they say they have not been able to replicate the issue and crossed the item off the list! - or is it another Jeep issue to live with?
Thanks
Mate, I'm having the exact same issue! If you manage to get it resolved, let me know as all I listen to is AM.

So the two week waiting game starts now for a new part ex USA, vehicle-less in Perth. The Perth dealer has found that our issue is actually due to a faulty fuel pump. A very different result to that of a particular dealer who said that we had starved the motor of fuel (sort of correct) and advised us to ensure that we have to have at least 1/4 of a tank of fuel in at all times.

The fun will now begin in dealing with Jeep customer service and roadside assist. They have a lot to learn. Toyota will cover hire vehicle costs if the parts are ex japan, but Jeep doesn't seem to have a policy similar. Roadside assistance will only cover you (for upto 5days hire car and a nights accommodation) if you are more than 100kms away from your home and they personally respond to a situation......so I would of only had assistance if i had driven the car home on the other dealers recommendation and the car conked out within the 300 out of the 400km trip.

We had also been advised yesterday that the car could of gone straight up to Perth (which was our only original request) if we paid the difference (which we willingly would of done), but the roadside assistance originally said that wasn't possible. The problem has been lodged with roadside assistance and an investigation has been initiated, but recovering the total costs of transport and the original 'fix-up service' will need to be initiated with the Customer Service Centre.

The jeep is a lovely car, but by golly god, I hope you guys do not ever have to go through the ordeals that we have had to face .... This seems to be the closest I will be getting to a jeep this trip around ......

Same here, AM reception should be much better than it is, makes me wonder if there is some sort of aerial booster available or if the radio can be re-tuned somehow?
My old Nissan Patrol's radio could reach AM stations much further than this one in the Jeep.

I just checked my VIN on the shipping track and trace, and it has me booked and loaded on the TONSBERG.
Unloading at Port Kembla October 30th.

That is probably a good date to start to sell my Pajero, which is about to hit 190,000km and therefore need a big service getting the timing belt and platinum plugs replaced.

I think Andy will be very glad to hear that Milous. I wonder if his dealership is aware of this fact? Best he inform them ASAP.

Personally, I'm over the angst of the Summit arriving here. I guess a new brochure must be in the offing also (but we won't hold our breathe for that).

No, happy all round here with Mr Overland - Summit be damned! .

Just really decided in our minds today actually, after looking at further pics of the Cherokee and the Aust. reviews of them that came out today, that the 300 SRT is our next Chrysler purchase in the next 6 months or so (in DCR to match Mr Overland ).

I always wanted Summit but was told it wasn't coming to Australia. I had already placed the order for Overland when I came to this site (jeepgarage). Not happy at all.

Overall Ansamoiz, I think the Australian Overland is better overall than the Summit to be honest.

From what I gather, comparing the two variants, all we are missing are:

- Adaptive headlights ie: directional, turn-around-corner ones (nice feature but honestly... do you really miss this?)

- 19 speakers Kardan Harmon system vs 9 speaker Alpine system that we have on the Overland (seriously, how many speakers does one really need in an enclosed cabin)

- Chrome grill vs Black grill. (I prefer the black one on the Overland).

- No skid plates available on the Summit.

Have I missed anything? Probably, but in the overall picture, for an extra 10k (which is what I'm thinking the Summit will RRP for against the Overland), I think the Overland is the better option with ORAII added.
