Salmo, yeah I thought the same with mine, I posted some comment about status along the lines of desperately waiting for a fast boat to Aussie asap, and next minute mine was loaded ahead of schedule. It is on the Tonsberg which apparently is the largest vehicle ship in the world, so maybe I was lucky with timing in that mine was there ahead of time and there was still space on the Tonsberg.

Still reckon, you will see yours first though, yours will probably go via road from Melbourne. Mine has to be dropped off in Sydney, go to the dealer up there for pre delivery, then via road to Melbourne to an agency that will arrange for local registration for the vehicle and finally to me.

It could be bulls#*t so don't get your hopes up.

BTW stopped by the dealer to see my Laredo CRD. It was covered in bird crap. Still looked good though. No sign of the reverse camera, was tempted to bring her home.
Currently Peter Warren Jeep (NSW) offer Sat Nav on the Laredo for $2200.
It's an aftermarket upgrade, where they add GPS antenna and load maps. Does not work the same as the Limited or above models.

They expect Jeep to offer a genuine upgrade in the new year for a much lower price.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Have purchased the IC-440 UHF/CB for the Big Red Fire Truck.
The IC-440 has a handset that has both digital controls and twin speakers in it.
Been advised that the base unit can fit in the centre tunnel beside the park brake.
Then run the handset cable out and fit next to the driver.

Can those that have UHF/CB fitted advise me of their particular installation method. Any problems?
No bullbar so only aerial positioning is on the front guard assembly. Not much room between bonnet and bodywork.
Have looked elsewhere and can see no real alternative postioning for the aerial.

Had the BRFT for a week now and just sorting out the info display panels. Better than a jigsaw puzzle!!

Getting some bling work done to the front lower grille area next friday to complement the SUMMIT Grille. Will post pics on here when its done. (Hope it works out!)

Any info appreciated.

Bluey

Have you thought about glass mount aerials as an alternative. Not as good as a proper aerial but not that bad either.

Also how often do you use your two-way? The biggest issue we've found with having the controls in the handpiece is that they are expensive to replace when worn out. A remote head (with a standard handpiece) might be a better option if space is an issue. We found it more beneficial in our business and a lot cheaper to replace the parts and we just mounted the speaker base under the seat.

I've had the following response about Satnav for the Laredo from an email query through the MOPAR site. I hope it's cheaper than $2200
"We are currently looking into an accessory option, please keep your ears out early Q1 2014"
