Took over a month to get front mudflaps + towbar, which were all meant to be on it on pick up. I have to travel over 350 kms return each time I visit the dealership. Should charge them for fuel costs. But vehicle itself is great and a pleasure to drive.Wife has claimed it, might have to get Doctor too cut her ass off the drivers seat so I can get a drive. Our screen also has map button in right corner sometimes.
Try 700kms away for a decent dealership or 400kms away for a dodgy one. We've finally got our jeep fixed, the faulty fuel pump has been replaced by a part from Melb instead of one from the us!

Now we've just got to sort out the s***storm (and blame game) from the incompetent service department who couldn't diagnose a faulty fuel pump located 400kms away and the not so helpful (at times) customer service department, and to work out who's going to cover the costs of reimbursement and trucking it back down here.

All I can say is that anyone who is looking for a jeep in the west talk to Steve G. at John Hughes cjd. We paid a fair price and the after sales service we have received out of him when no one else wanted to listen was absolutely amazing. Without him believing in us and getting further diagnostics done on our behalf, we would have most likely been stuck halfway from home and the incompetent service department on the side of the road within a 150km stretch of bitumen with no nextG phone signal.

On the bright side, it's great to hear you've got a reversing camera at least though.... We are still waiting for ours.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 2013: Tow Test
Domo, we have just towed a 2200t van to the Flinders Ranges and back. It is fitted with ESC. Love, love, love it! We watched the van in front of us swaying away, but ours didnt budge. ( should be compulsory). The other brilliant addition to the van is a camera. You can clearly see what is coming up behind you. Itmakes towing sooo much better.

And...The jeep performed brilliantly.

It's good that you get the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in your van. Not my cup of tea though . You also have sway control on the Jeep that would have helped. One question; is the camera on the van wired through to the car or does it use bluetooth or something similar? If wired, does it have a separate plug & socket or does it go through the trailer plug?

The camera was wired through the car. It has it's own plug underneath, near the tow bar. Regarding which phone, my iphone works really well, no hassles. Regarding the gps, dont bother! The iphone maps did a much better job of getting us to where we wanted to go...jeep gps had us going on some very strange journeys!

To display the caravan camera do you have a separate screen for it or have you been able to feed a second feed into the uConnect monitor? There was a company working on an iPhone was used as the monitor for the camera. Which would be handy as I use the iPhone for my navigation as well.

Hi,
Today I noticed that the LED parking lights on my SRT no longer come on when the dial is switched to parking lights.
The DRL 's stay on even with the car in PARK. And the handbrake ON
Once I switch to headlights every seems to work correctly.
When I first got the car it seemed to ok, but I recently had the flash done for the HVAC fix.
Anyone else seeing the same behavior?

Apparently it can be done but the auto elec refused to do it because it voids the warranty on the uconnect. Fair enough.

Did you find out what is difference between the MY13 and MY14 harness?

The MY14 tow bar kit is around 300 dollars more expensive and the only difference is the harness as far as I have been told.

According to justforjeep all MY14 GC has the harness and the only thing is is required is the "factory hitch connector" Factory Hitch Connector however this may only applies to the US vehicle.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Re: that review. 10/100 - seems a little high. We're sitting on 8.3 at the moment. I wonder where they test drove it.

Anyway, I have a very minor whinge about it for the first time.

Why is there no sensor on the spare? Cost saving probably, but got a flat yesterday - large nail. A quick change to the spare and lo and behold, no sensor so get the (---) pressure warning from the TPMS on the EVIC.

Manual explains this is normal however because no sensor fitted (must have missed those couple of pages when we read it first time), however that is a feature that we have on '07 WK.

Those that have '11, '12 or '13s - do you have the sensor on the spare? What year model did they remove it.

Just curious is all.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

With regards to the rock rails, do they affect the deployment/effectiveness of the side air bags or are they fitted with some sort of shear off bolts. ???

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well, on my last leg back home from a trip up north, and my connect screen has just turned off. I've tried turning off the vehicle and leaving it for a while, but no go.
After leaving it off for a while, I noticed that the screen is actually on, but is SUPER low on brightness. Unfortunately, the screen isn't taking input via the touchscreen interface.

Any idea on how to reboot the computer?? I really don't want to drive another 5 hours without music!
