Yes, Husband and I were just talking about this. That's that ad-blue stuff isn't it? So they will not ever experience it.

Salmo, great to hear that yours is now on board and should be heading away soon. Do you know the website that you can have tracking and auto notifications for the ship, if not I will send you the link, you can track and also get auto notifications each time it comes back in range again for land radar ?

Just hope this doesn't happen to your ship that happened to one of the sister ships a few years ago full of brand new BMW's. Sunk in shallow water in English Channel and had to be cut into sections and taken away, cars and all........lol !

Hi 911,
Sorry about the slow reply, been fishing in the Grampians for a few days.
It the ship site you refer to, Wilhelm, if not I would love the your site. Ta.
If it doesn't roll over probably a bunch of somali pirates will hi jack it.

Yes. Typical of Australian ADR's, and importers minimizing cost/prices. We don't get garage door openers, remote start, wifi hotspots, or the best in engine systems. Or even VR on navigation! (sorry - had a tough day)

Its not ADR's, they were all purely CJD Au's decision. They really know what the customer wants.......

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

But I think we do have the better option.

I for one would not be too impressed that I had to fill the Ad-Blu tank up after every 10,000km's. I don't even know where I could find Ad-Blu in our area. I did do a search and found a truck stop about 20kms away.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I may have the wrong idea about how this works but, we have a filter that is sensored to report when that filter is near capacity of carbon that needs a burn. In our case, no warning has ever been issued because everyday I sit at 80km-100km for 30 minutes minimum.

The US guys just have a constant supply of this Ad-Blu stuff being mixed to burn it in 'real time' (is that right?) of which -

1: It is an extra cost factor and

2: Not an easy pop down the road to the local servo to get it.

For us, it's better our way. I can appreciate that if someone owned the vehicle that only did short runs, then the Ad-Blu option would be better. The Ad-Blu option would be a much more preferable option to my Skoda friend for example.

There are plenty of places with ad blue now here in Adelaide. A lot of the European trucks use it (especially the volvos) as it allows them to meet euro 5 emission specs. It's not that hard to get a hold of bulk, it's just that it's relatively new and not many people require it yet, especially in cars, and hence not many servos have it.

Im shocked SJanL!
Adblue or Urea is and has been available for years. Im even more suprised you have a farm and dont have any in the shed. Very popular fertiliser.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

We don't have a farm. No sheep nor cattle. Just hundreds of birds (think walk-in/sit-down aviaries), 2 dogs and one cat on 5 acres (oh and also a human 10 year old child). Husband is talking emu's but I'm not convinced.

Regardless, none of these species require Ad-Blu.

It might have been available for years but the last 'truck' I drove was in my early twenties and that was an old Austin Gypsy. (I loved that 'truck') and it took petrol not diesel.

Oh and our New Holland 4x4 tractor takes diesel but does not require Ad-Blu nor does the Murray.

Yes, that is what the dealer was saying, but he also suggested you can get a Fortron additive which helps keeping the filter clear. After reading the later posts, this a new world to me. I never knew modern diesels with their emission systems require this sort of thing. If it is necessary that you need to do a lengthy highway run to clear things that is one thing, but for the Jeep not giving an advance warning that the filter is nearly full and instead telling you that it is 100% full and putting the car immediately into limp mode meaning you cannot go on the highway to burn off the particulates is very strange logic.
