ok there must be something wrong with my post code. Coles and woollies online both said cannot issue a quote based on my postcode and CBA online quoted $1399.06 (with windscreen and hire car option). looking up and down the street I don't think there should be any issues.

What possibly could be wrong with a post code in Western Sydney? LOL

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I just did an online quote with AAMI - $758.50 including windscreen coverage - $500 excess. AAMI have 2 year replacement for new vehicles where others like RACV in Victoria only have 12 months. I prefer to go with the established insurers, skeptical about some of the retailers and banks popping up with insurance now.

Real test for how good or bad an insurance company is only kicks in when you have to make a claim.People down the street from us took 2 years to get back into their house after the hail storm hit eastern suburbs of Melbourne back in March 2010, they were insured with Comm Bank.

Personally the idiots driving round in those little red cars in the Coles add annoys the crap out of me. Also although my kids are all over 24, not sure what would happen if they are driving and something happened given the likes of Coles are for 30 + people.

I will be going with AAMI, they have been brilliant to me in the past with hail damaged cars written off.

tell me about it, just because I'm in Crimebrook, sorry I mean Cranebrook!

Well AAMI was cheapest ($1204), but NRMA dropped over $300 down to $1200.78 to keep me with $800 excess. dealer was through Allianz was $1370

when I told my wife about Woollies and Coles she said no because she has had a few clients having trouble getting the money out of them to get there cars fixed, I tried anyway but didn't happen.
Also the reason I gave NRMA a chance to match, every time we have had something happen to the car or house they have been great and fast.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I must admit since I started this, I can't believe the differences in pricing. Me here at Noosa enjoy the best of all world,

Sunshine (for Victorians, that the yellow ball in the sky you see once in a while, or at least your parents may have told stories about it around a campfire)

Cheap insurance, my new limited at agreed value, with windscreen, $494; and

we have the Xfactor, go Darmi.

Regarding the insurance I am very surprised to see no one had mentioned choice of repairer. It is one of it not the most important option for me.

Oh my god, don't think I would be raving about the Xfactor in waves of pride, thank you also for your observations about identifying what a sun looks like, ours does last longer in the day though when out because we are one of the progressive states with daylight saving.

I have always said to my kids that you only get what you pay for. Queensland with its weather patterns I would suggest may be seen as a higher risk by some insurance companies yet a premium of under $500 to me sounds too cheap and would be checking the fine print and also researching on the net under Whirlpool and similar sites peoples reviews of insurance companies performance. Like I said earlier the real test for an insurance company is if you have to make a claim, which sometimes confirms that unrealistically low premiums can come back and bite people later.

Thanks for your comments.
I am insured with Suncorp, which is renown as one of the best insurance companies in Aust, especially after the floods up here.
Btw, I am trained to read the fine print.
