I am still waiting for the sun to come out so I can wash the beast and take some photos from different angles. This may happen on the weekend .
Just saw my quote, the MY11-13 are $250ish not $50 ish as I said.

Do a google map search of the Port of Brisbane. There is about 80% of the area that stores vehicles covered by mesh, you just would not want the one in the uncovered area to be yours.

I rang Shannons on Monday and the desk jockey grilled me about wether I'm a motor enthusiast, what affiliations to car clubs I have, that they only insure motor car enthusiasts.
I told him not to bother & hung up. Tosser.

I wonder if you have to be somebody special to qualify for home insurance.
Hmmm, I presume you do need to be a "motor car enthusiasts". I first insured my Mazda RX7 with them many years ago and have always had a toy car insured with them, now my Alfa, so I guess I qualify. Over the years I have added my normal road cars and my home.

But no more - Sister in law watched as neighbours in the mountains after the bush fires who were insured with NRMA, GIO etc were assisted. Shannons were nowhere to be seen. Numerous phone calls etc etc were required to get them to shift. Hopeless. Shannons are just a front for Suncorp.

So as I say, moment of truth for our extended family - 3 homes and a total of 8 cars all being reviewed as a result of Shannons useless service in a crisis - exactly why you take out insurance I would have thought.

Talking Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hello boys and girls.
I started looking several weeks ago for a new car.
Looked at a few including Range Rover Audi and Volkswagon Touareg.
A non Jeep salesman directed me here, where I started reading at page 1 and bought a Jeep at page 608.
I have replaced a highly modified GU Patrol and a VZ SS Thunder ute with an
MY2014 Overland, Black with black interior(I wanted white, she wanted black,
she won, she happy). Picked it up on Monday evening, only mod at the moment being the tow hitch. It is the CRD and I loove it. 350kms and counting, taking it for a run from Melbourne Vic to Beachport SA for the long weekend to see how it likes the sand.

I am one very happy 53yearold kid.

Thanks to all of you for the constructive input added to this thread as it sealed the deal for me.

Regards Murray

You started at page 1? Go you.

Congrats on the purchase. Isn't the Overland fabulous. After... gosh what is now... 5 months and close to 10,000kms, (must book it in for its first service for week after next), I'm still suffering from 'MY14 JGC glow'.

Welcome to JG. It's a very, very addictive (and supportive) forum.

Thanks SJandL. Think my face is going to crack from the excessive smiling.

For those of you in NSW with cars on the MV Tonsberg, it has just docked at Port Kembla. Mine comes off here too and goes to a Sydney dealer for pre delivery before being shipped by road to Melbourne for me.

Hi All,

Just a general thanks to all participants on this forum who contribute and share their knowledge and experience. This makes the purchasing experience far more informed, providing a great platform of both positive and negative, and eliminating the element of surprise.
I am pleased to advise I received my vehicle yesterday, and it is a fantastic machine. I now have to contemplate how to wash the bloody thing, but if that's all I need to worry about, bring it on!
