Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

@ SJandL

Yea thanks for suggesting this post. Found my way through

Quite an epic post..... you really love your Jeep. I am sure you will win the battle for the MY14 Cherokee
I did read about the recalls that Jeep had to do and some of the climate control issues. Thats why I am a bit sceptical, however reading through I think I should take it for a test drive and then see how it goes.

I love it:

" However, a computer malfunction on one drive home resulted in a blank display (with no indication of speed!). After calling the dealer, who suggested bringing it in for a ‘reboot’, it subsequently returned to normal the following day upon restarting the car."

@ SNUKE

Very true. I did the same a few weeks ago when I looked at the Prado and didnt go next door to look at the Jeep. The Jeeps do offer quite a lot of extras and to get the same in Prado one needs to pay through the roof. Time for test ride

My car is afloat, on a boat, coming across the moat, and soon I'll be able to gloat.

Never thought I would buy a Jeep until I took one for a test drive. Looked at buying a CRD Limited, ended up buying a CRD Overland instead.

I'm the same, didnt even consider the jeep, was going for the Pajero but didnt like the fact its basically the same car as it has been for years as Snuke said.

Shits and giggles convinced the missus to come and take jeep for a drive, one drive and we were sold.

Buttz OZ, didnt realise we had ORIII, is that a special setting you got put in later on? Haha just kidding, we do the same by moderating between ORI and ORII, love having that option

I too had no intention of buying a Jeep. Went to get a Chrysler 300C SRT Wagon. Can't fit a tow bar to them :-( Sales guy tried to convince me to o for a drive in JGC SRT. Me not interested. After 15 mins of chat thought may as well. BOUGHT it after a drive. Blown away to say the least.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Ditto for me too.
L/Crusier too expensive. Several others that might have been a possibity were crossed off as the they had side opening tailgates, no good with a boat on the back, some no diesel. JGC ticked all the boxes and are nothing like they were 30 odd years ago.
A test drive sealed the deal.
Not long to wait now.

Hi Snuke
I washed the beast this morning and have taken a few photos of the side strip. You mentioned that you did not like the way the ends came to a point - that is because the strips follow the contours of the door moulding shape. The strips actually sit 'inside' the door moulding and follow the contours of the door. I have tried to show this in the photos. Well, I will try and transfer some shots - may take a few tries. I can't see a button telling me where I can upload.

I think the chrome looks great. Very nice tuck. But you need to get some tyre black.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks Colozzie, looks great, I have been trying to notice those tips on MY14s as they drive past, I can see now that it is a good match.
Nice looking place too. I like to wood.

We are also going to have chrome side steps, so I wonder it is too much chrome.
See what the misses thinks.

These are the side steps on G6JETs car, actually I can see very clearly the tapered ends in this pic.
