Suggest you post this on a new thread coreys - these things are impossible to spot in this long 2014 thread.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi guys, it's been a while since l posted but l have been hard to drag away from my beautiful my14 JGC Laredo crd (cherry red) only down side as has been discussed adinfinitum is the ongoing saga of the reversing camera as a noshow.
Anyway that aside l'm loving it,l have researched seat covers quite a bit because l want to keep the girl looking her best, and l finally settled on a company called Supertrim they custom make covers from neoprene they look and feel fantastic.
I ordered a set for the front and rear ( they are made in black with silver stitching ) you can have stitching in other colours too, which leads me to the reason for this post. I ordered front and back covers with red stitching and due to a hiccup they were made with silver, the order will be made over but if there is anyone out there who needs seat covers l can recommend them, you will find them at Supertrim Williams Rd Dandenong south melb vic 9874 55 99 ( l have no connection with them other than being a customer this is not an ad just passing on info that may be helpful ) thanks guys

Did you remove your front air dam? Do you have mud flaps?

We will be heading up on Friday, get on the Noosa ferry sometime early afternoon and then take to the beach one the tide looks out enough. Anybody on the thread who has any experience doing this section of beach (which of the 3 cuttings to take), any advice is greatly appreciated.

Corey
I was there 12 months ago, and I normally do it the other way around, drive up towards rainbow beach and head down kings bore rd or freshwater rd, then after we camp, pack up and drive down to the ferry. Since I was there last I have heard there has been a lot of erosion exposing coffee rock. Not sure if that is still a problem, but the report doesn't mention it:

http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/parks/co...ons-report.pdf

Here is the cutting (no. 3) I take back to the ferry, around 2:30:

The only place I'd remove the air dam for is coming down kings bore rd, but it is closed, so you won't need to worry about that. When the tide is out it is basically flat. Teewah is a pretty easy beach to drive normally, you shouldn't have problems if you are sensible.

Hey fourbfarmer, I was looking at those for our Laredo which is billet silver. Can you pm or post what I would be looking for the front and rear covers? Greatly appreciated. Do you know if they are the same as for the 2011 - 13's or if our MY14's have any differences as my brother in law was also interested.

I do have mud flaps and I didn't remove the front air dam. In fact, we didn't even score any sand on the front at all. Most tracks I found allowed for full clearance at OR1 and occasionally I raised it to OR2. Low range allowed for slower options in heavy sand. We didn't need to plant the foot to get through. You should have a good run.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi Creatit, you will find good info on their web site www.supertrim.com.au
on that site they quote $239.95 for the whole front set, l'm pretty sure the rear is slightly less but it might be best to contact them, they are very helpful.
As far as fitting is concerned l'm aware that they had to wait to make a pattern for the MY14 which l'm pleased to say they have and l'm guessing that they have patterns for the previous years models, you can buy online but l wanted to see them in the flesh so l went to melb ( 1 1/2 hr drive) and l'm glad l did l was shown the finished product on a ford ranger seat ( wash my mouth out) and it looked very nice, great fit, l asked about how it would fair with the heated seats and it's not an issue.
I hope that has gone someway to helping, l have also asked them to make me some floor mats and a boot liner, just can't wait to dress the girl up.
Cheers

Did you ask him about how seat covers affect the airbags in the seats.

Just been surfing their website for something to do while at work, this is straight from their site..

"They are also made to suit air bag and non-air bag seats without compromising safety."

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi WarrenK
yeah l asked about that and the pattern takes that into account they leave openings for the airbags, now this might sound like it would look
kind of unfinished but my last car a holden sportwagon was fitted with custom made sheepskin covers with openings for the airbags and it looked fine, my first priority was keeping all the necessary safety gear working, then keeping seats in good nick and then being sure not to spoil the look of the car.
