Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

When locking your car (and with the horn to sound when locking option selected), does your horn sound? I selected this option, but horn won't sound at locking.

Having had my SRT for a almost a couple of weeks, I'm hoping I'll eventually see the instrument cluster showing what DS84 had on the screen. Not the DPF burn stuff, I'm not bothered about that. I mean the 'range 569 kms', I've filled up twice so far and each time the range was under 450 kms. I knew it wouldn't be frugal, but jeez, this thing likes a drink... 569 range on 5/8 tank sounds pretty awesome to me!

Just as well, you have a petrol engine, so no DPF to worry about.

I will take a picture next time but on my Laredo CRD my last range on a full fill up was 1130 km. I have impressed quite a few friends who have now test driven the car when I put it in sports mode and put the boot in and then show them the economy setting on the dash and how far we have left on the tank. Have almost convinced the father in law that has been a farmer and toyota driver all his life. His only negative was not having a dealer within 80km to service it.

Createit, likewise.
Got 2,000kms on the Laredo crd now. Just come back from Echuca and other places to get the clicks up before I hook up the van.

Freeway @ 110kph was just on 7L/100K. On the second tank now and both around the 1200k's for the tank.

The first tank was worked out to be 1230k's for the tank.
So Melbourne to Newcastle without refuelling!!!
City driving is around the 9.5 mark.

Wasnt even getting that with the Hyundai Santa fe crd.

Have also planted the right foot occasionally to get a buzz!!. Who needs the SRT????

So, after waiting 10 months for the bloody machine, I do have a smile on the dial, people!!

Putting the final bit of bling on tomorrow (wednesday). The chrome lower grille surround. Part cost $75 and another $75 to fit. Will change the look.

Will post the pic after the change.

I like the black grille surround, did you do that yourself?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Is there someway to tell if the dealer has actually done the HVAC (TSB) updates? They tell me they have however I have just discovered that the Uconnect is still at 13.19.00.

Got my Laredo last friday and have already clocked up 450km. Great car!!

Only disappointment is the reversing camera (quality is hopeless) and the factory slush mats. For some reason they make them smaller then the standard carpet ones, in particular the rear sections which protrude under the front seats are real narrow. In hindsight probably would have got rubber mats from an auto store. The rear cargo mat is great though.

Skiddy, I just bought some generic slush mats from Repco, and they fit quite well. As for the TSB's, the version of the Uconnect has little to do with the other systems' status. The Uconnect is only the interface for adjusting the settings of the various systems.

I think only the dealers can view the status and version of the various systems, as I had the TSB for the aircon done last week (as well as a couple of others I didn't know about, but the tech had a couple of them written on the job order before I turned up). I couldn't see anything different afterwards (apart from the climate working correctly). I did the Uconnect update myself afterwards, and the only thing I noticed was the media player showed album artwork, and the seat heat page had an option of dimming the mirror.
