I think only the dealers can view the status and version of the various systems, as I had the TSB for the aircon done last week (as well as a couple of others I didn't know about, but the tech had a couple of them written on the job order before I turned up). I couldn't see anything different afterwards (apart from the climate working correctly). I did the Uconnect update myself afterwards, and the only thing I noticed was the media player showed album artwork, and the seat heat page had an option of dimming the mirror.
Thanks Jarse. Have just tried downloading the Uconnect update but it stops after I install Akamai interface. Says a popup window will appear to continue download but nothing happens.

Bugger, now it tells me I have exceeded download limit and to contact Uconnect Customer Care. ???

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

This morning when my wife started the Jeep the quadra lift was doing something unusual with the vehicle stationary. The suspension up button on the console had the bottom light on, on the dash, the aero indicator was on and a green indicator light on the dash, what I would describe as a flag shape was on.
When the vehicle started moving the raising indicator came on as per usual and when the normal height was reached the raising light went out, console switch position light went out and the green light on the dash went out.
Since then everything has been operating as normal.

It probably is one those little glitches that the Jeeps seem to have. Has anyone else experienced this with their quadra lift?

Any idea what the flag shape green indicator means?
I couldn't find anything in the Jeep hand book about the green light.

Warren

Warren, the green flag comes on when car is in sports mode. It also goes in aero mode when sports mode is on. The gear shifter would have moved to sports mode by accident. When you are in D and pull the shifter back it goes in sports mode.

Yes, I have done as Ansamoiz has described when I'm in a hurry and not paying attention. Green Flag - Sports mode.

A simple pull back on the shifter puts it into drive (D).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I must say, the gear lever is taking a bit of getting used to - I feel like it is the first time driving, having to look down at the gear selector / on the dash board. At the moment sort of missing the normal transmission shifting....need more practice!!!

I can relate to that. I found it easier to - how to explain this - drop your hand from on top of the shifter and go....side ways. That won't make sense.

Instead of coming over the top of the shifter, drop your hand to the left, as in holding a mug and just use your index finger coupled with your thumb

Can't explain it properly but I have a very smooth change now and I don't need to look. But it took a bit of practice.

The first tank was worked out to be 1230k's for the tank.
So Melbourne to Newcastle without refuelling!!!
City driving is around the 9.5 mark.

Wasnt even getting that with the Hyundai Santa fe crd.

Have also planted the right foot occasionally to get a buzz!!. Who needs the SRT????

So, after waiting 10 months for the bloody machine, I do have a smile on the dial, people!!

Putting the final bit of bling on tomorrow (wednesday). The chrome lower grille surround. Part cost $75 and another $75 to fit. Will change the look.

Will post the pic after the change.

Bluey
I like what your doing. Chrome lower Grille, Summit Grille. Black part SRT look. People are going to have to look twice ( or three times) to try and fathom what you are driving. Is it a Laredo, a limited, a Summit, an SRT, a bird? a plane, no...it's SUPER HYMER. Please post the next pic.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks for the replies.
My wife said she noticed the sport mode light had come up when she was getting ready to back out of the garage.

Compared to the FG Falcon I have the gear lever can be a bit fiddly to get into the desired gear somethings with a couple of goes to succeed.

Agree with Webber. What on earth is that?

Not a bird though - oh hang on - maybe a Haast Eagle. Stealthy but deadly (really deadly) but more to the point, and evolution anomaly.

I've been wondering what you intend to do with the front lower fascia (below the grill). Is that to remain black?

I really like the chrome grill. It's looking great.

Thanks for that, I will give it a go. I too had a FG Falcon, and that was so easy compared to this shifter.
