Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Great quality control from supplier and dealer, total dismay from myself when daughter pointed out our 3 month old 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited was minus the front Jeep badge! Apparently never fitted from factory, can,t believe it went un-noticed by us all.

Skiddy,
I still have the RJ-3 ISO file (Laredo) on a memory stick if you would like to borrow it

Must admit that I haven't experienced this so far, which is possibly due to the very dry weather that we have been experiencing lately here in Qld. Had the GC now since July and it has never been on a wet road.

Well, folks, the suspense is over. The blingerisation of GEORGE is now complete (as far as I have been allowed to do)
Fitted the lower chrome grille surround this morning for $150 supply and fit. They did a good job too did Mentone Jeep.

Webber, nice conundrum you presented there;
Laredo,LTD,Overland,Summit, SRT????

Check it out and see what yo'all think.

Looking great.

I am in process of blingerising my overland at the moment. Hoping to have it completed in a week or so. So far completed; front fog lamp surrounds, chrome mirror surrounds, rear wiper cover, lift gate handle, sill plates and side steps. Outstanding; front grille inserts and side mouldings.

The chrome grill looks great. Did Jeep fit these for you, or was this home job? I have read that some have had difficulty installing these. I'm not sure I am that patient to do it myself.

All you need now is a sticker for the back window "when I grow up I wanna be a summit"

That lower chrome grill surround finishes it off nicely. It looks good.

Looks the goods Hymer.... Hmmm I reckon that colour coding the black plastic trims (around air dam, wheel arches etc) would really set it off... Got to draw a line in the sand right? I'm already in the dog house for ordering skid plates, a set of new mags & dual battery system for ours!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hymer (Rob).
The comment of yours...."The blingerisation of GEORGE is now complete (as far as I have been allowed to do)" Just one more thing to round it off. A few badges won't break the bank, I am sure the boss will allow it. All you need to do now is order in the appropriate badges, ie.....Limited, Summit, SRT, and I am sure you are "cluey" enough to manufacture a "Super Hymer" one too (as you already have the Laredo one), fit them across the read door and post a picture to satisfy us all and absolutely confuse every one else.
Seriously though, well done. I think Chrysler should consider employing your services in the "bling department". You've done a very good job. Everyone on Jeep Garage will know exactly who is behind the wheel should they spot you on the road. Congratulations. I'm feeling a bit like a "party pooper" that I haven't spoilt my girl with any jewellery yet. Well done again.

Skid plates are a protective investment, just like car insurance. Keep the removed parts and you can easily remove them for resale at turnover. You'd have to get half back...

Buying wheels and tyres for a new car is a biatch, but the wrong rubber can make for expensive situations too. What are you fitting?

Ciao,
Steve
