Thanks Beggsy. They actual serve their purpose very well and are sturdy as they have 3 brackets under each step. I bought them from Everest Autoparts from ebay for $300 delivered to my door. They also have a website which sells for $310.00, or on ebay for $599.00 - not sure why the difference. But here are the links:

JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WK / WW (2010 - 2014) - SIDE STEPS

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK 2010 2013 Side Steps Running Boards | eBay

The only criticism I have is that I felt the "T bolts" supplied were not up to scratch, so I had a set made up by an engineer for $60.00 cash used high tensile steel bolts, and then I sprayed them with cold galvanised paint for rust protection. Other than that, they're fantastic.

I don't mind the sound - as long as it doesn't sound like the ones on 4cyl buzz boxes you hear everywhere!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Picked up the car last Friday and have to say it is awesome and love the ACC (although I have only driven it a couple of times as my wife drives during the week), could not be happier. Now I just have learn to drive off road.

Congratulations! Again I have noticed you are able to get a slim number plate on the front and a standard on the rear - it looks good. I ordered slim plates on mine, but on the rear, you can actually see the cushion pads....so I ordered a standard for the rear as it's better proportioned.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just did the Uconnect upgrade to 13.39 as I've had a few problems with no sound, Hands free dropping out and screen resetting itself, all went OK until it said enter anti theft code for the radio. I don't have this, nothing in any of my manuals and docs from dealer. Has anyone else had to complete this step and if so, was this code something your dealer gave you.

If in doubt, re install it. If you have another USB to use, do that incase it's related to that.

Mine doesn't have the cushion pads at the bottom of the plate only the spacers that the screws go into. I was going to buy some but I don't think it will ever touch the paint as it seem pretty rigid as is. I do need to get spacers for the front plate though because they just attached straight to the bumper.
When we orded the plates they actually came as a slim for front and standard size for rear.

It only asks for anti theft code if the radio is not married to the vehicle's vin. I believe your radio has been replaced by the dealer prior to delivery. Only dealer can provide that code.

I'm in Sydney and got insurance from AIInsurance.com.au for just over $1,000 for my SRT. I also took out their chipex add on for $240 which allows 2 claims per year of up to $600 each for smal chips, parking dings, shopping trolleys etc with no excess and it also reduces the excess of a major claim through the normal fully comp insurance from $600 to $300. I've found that location seems to have a huge effect on the premium with a colleague in the hills district being quoted $1200+ for a used golf...

Sorry if this has been covered many times, I've been really busy and I'm still 2 weeks behind with posts on this thread...
