Did you also note the fuel consumption report? As if the manufacturer will report on a towing consumption figure with so many variables.

I am sticking with my Overland which has arrived at the dealers and now doing pre delivery, you can't get the light frost in the Summit in any case. Any more news or where your vehicle is at now Snuke ?
Don't tell Webber about the Summit, but I can't be any happier with my Overland.[/QUOTE]

Butts_Oz, you obviously read all about me and the Summit. I won't repeat it all tonight but I did call in at Essendon Chrysler this evening in an attempt to view one but they still do not have one to display. Had my dealer been honest with me I probably would have purchased a Summit but we were promised/guaranteed it would not happen. I will post my views once I have seen one in the flesh but otherwise I too am very happy with the blonde chick in the rear shed. The way I am travelling she will be going in for her first 6 monthly check up in mid December with well under 5000K on the clock. However, we have just employed two more persons so just may get a chance to run up a lot more K's in the near future.

Cross my heart and hope to die if I am telling fibs.: Was out in the truck today travelling the Tullarmarine Freeway, Eastlink and Monash Freeways on business and counted 15 MY14's on one trip. Can anyone beat that. To me, it indicates that these cars are selling, possibly faster than main competitors, Toyota's Landcruiser, Prado, Pajero, X5, VW and Cayenne. Time will tell. Have not seen any official sales figures of late but I reckon we are on a winner here. Of the 15 two were bright white, two were DCR and the remainder were dark colours, mainly black and Granite Crystal.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Oh Webber - Summit - Schummiit - Pfft. The Overland is better. I think we made the right choice (actually, that was our only choice... but it is better don't you think. )

Weird you mention the number of JGC's on the road. I thought the other day that I had stumbled into a JGC convention that nobody had mentioned to me.

From going to seeing nothing on the road (other than my friends that have an SRT and two '13 Limited's), I found myself, just like you counting the number of Grand Cherokee's coming the other way. Admittedly, most were '13's - I counted 3 '14s but it was really weird and then interspersed with a couple of Patriots (both Black - I have never seen a Patriot any other colour) but I thought where are these Jeeps coming from' Really weird.

Anyway, today had the ABS/Instrument cluster recall done (it's a long download and install so give yourself and your dealership an appropriate amount of time for that one) and the 10,000km service (beat you to it Webber) and the towbar installed. Big day for Mr Jeep Jeep. Ignore my rant in the Uconnect International/Export thread - I think all will be fine in a day or so.

Also my husband met another JG member at the dealership. He guessed who we were and said to my husband - are you SJ&L on Jeep Garage?

They talked tyres and rear cameras, tow hitches and stuff.

Small world but A.

200SXR and I met on a plane flight from Melb to Syd.
We were chatting on the phone, saying can't talk long about to get on a plane back to Sydney.
Really, what flight....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Oh and also - with reference to my blurb attached to signature -

The dealership gave us a 300c as a loan car while MY14 was in today and I think that has helped my cause. It was the first time he had actually driven one and admittedly it was not the SRT variant that he wants but even so, he spent a bit of time going over it. (build date '12).

I think I just might get the Cherokee (we are looking for a replacement for '07 JGC). He has now at least, agreed to wait until Cherokee arrives here next May/June before we make the decision. **phew**.

Thank you dealership.

Yeah that was bizarre! Sounds like we might be picking up our respective cars on the same day too!

I spoke to customer service again and quietly went through the story and explained it was my last contact before going to Consumer Protection, Fair Trading, the local bikies, etc. The lady repeated the usual line that she would discuss it with tech support and get back to me. I replied that I wasn't sure I was willing to wait for someone to not call me back again... and that someone should take my call. This wasn't possible, so we ended there.

I was going to call the consumer groups , however my malaise got the better of me and I crashed out at around 1:30 and slept pretty much solid until 5:30

Cheers,
Steve

Yep that was me, is a small world. I realized who it was when I saw the colour of the car.

Just in case he wants to know the tyres I put on mine they are cooper ltz.

I forgot to ask the dealer about the instrument cluster, mine went blank for my wife the other day again. What did u say to macurthur about it to get it fixed.

Thanks

Hey there
Just ring and say you want the N58 recall flash done. They had already had the doc printed out and attached to the worksheet when he dropped the car off for servicing so they were already aware it.

Husband says thank you for the info on the tyres as well.
