Best to tint the rest of the car in a clear or very light film to get the same 99% UV protection (or there abouts) as what you'll be getting for the fronts with the darkest legal tint, otherwise it will be like having the air con on with the windows down .
Also you'll be protecting the interior in case the glass is broken as the tint film will hold the glass in tact instead of shattering inside in a million pieces.

Is the 3M Formula1 stuff a metallic film? I think it is. Again be aware that having metal film can reduce RF signals inside your car...for your mobile phone for example.
Ive been trying to find info regarding the deep tint sunscreen glass for a while. Nobody has been able to confirm the UV rating. Where did you get your info from?

Thanks. I presume that factory-tint needs to be removed before applying high-UV protection film? My concern is will it void manufacturer warranty to a certain extend?

Would like to hear feedbacks from limited/overland owners who had tinting done.

Have had my Limited done with a legal black tint on the front windows only, looks great and hard to tell the difference inside the vehicle, only just noticeable outside. The other 'factory' tinted glass is a full through and through tint which I was informed has a degree of UV protection built in, same as tinted window glass in your home.
My two front windows were done by Motor One in Brisbane, cost $250, they did a good job. ( Also had full under body deadener / rust protection done as well as I occasionally do a little beach driving here at home).
All in all very happy with my choice of tint, but as most things with our vehicles it does get down to personal choice.

Thanks for feedback. What kind of tinting material used, metallic, ceramic, etc, etc?

Hi there, I had my 2 fronts done last week with metal based 35% (darkest legal tint) from a local installer for $100.00 - gotta be happy with that. He also had 20% ceramic tint for $150.00 - but is unroadworthy on front windows. Hope this helps.
EDIT: The ceramic tint looked very similar to the factory tint - I'd be surprised if there is any tint on the market which does not offer a degree of UV protection - otherwise defeats the purpose.

Congrats on getting your email through JJ because I cant even send mine. Banned from Jeep Australia for even daring to criticise their operation.
Tried to send the below message through and wont because "The CSRF token is invalid. Please try to resubmit the form."

Will now try other avenues of contacting Jeep Australia.

Bluey

"Good Morning Jeep Australia,
16th November 2012 I purchased an MY14 Grand Cherokee Laredo CRD. 10 months later I received that vehicle.
It was a long protracted wait that caused me angst and frustration because of the lack of information regarding the manufacture and delivery of that vehicle both from Frankston Jeep and Jeep Australia.
I raised the information and supply issue several times on the Jeep Australia Facebook page. Any reasonable person would raise the same issues.
I now find that I have no COMMENT access to the Jeep Australia Facebook page. In other words I have been arbitrarily banned from the Jeep Australia Facebook page.
I used no bad language in my posts only reasoned comment regarding the supply and information issues.
I can see no FINE PRINT on the Jeep Australia Facebook page outlining the banned content.
I had no explanation for the reason of my banning from the Jeep Australia Facebook site.
Could the administrators of the Jeep Australia Facebook page please respond to me and advise me for the reasons of my banning.
This is a pity because I have had my MY14 Grand Cherokee Laredo CRD for 6 weeks now and have 2,000kms in it with no issues at all.
It is a fabulous machine and I certainly would have been espousing the virtues and quality of the machine to one and all on the Jeep Australia Facebook page.
Because of my inability to make COMMENT on that page, I now cannot make such comments. It is only fair that Jeep Australia be able to accept criticism as well as compliments on their page.
Could you please respond to this request as a bonafide MY14 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo CRD owner.
This request is being placed @ 9.15am Saturday 16th November 2013. I say this because two other Jeep owners that I know have had no response to their enquiries at all from this site.
Thank you
Rob B :-)

'Will now try other avenues of contacting Jeep Australia.'
