Yes, I can see the benefit with regards to UV blocking. The leather seats in '07 have suffered no sun damage at all over the years. Just general 'bum' wear but no fading nor cracking via sun.

My car was done at Tint-a-car too. I had my wife's car done at the same time for a discount. She has a glass sunroof too, and I was told the same story re tinting the roof. I'm not quite sure why they say that the tint causes the glass to break, because the sunroof glass is toughened, and more tolerant of high temperature than regular laminated glass.....

If I remember correctly, its got something to do with the glass expanding and shrinking at different rates to the tint film.

Got my car back today. Oil leak turned out to be the result of a loose oil pressure switch. Climate control now blows equal temperature and no more driving whilst trying to guess my speed.

I have to give a big thanks to Natasha at Jeep Narellan. What a breath of fresh air it was to deal with her than the gronk at Jeep Chullora.

I had originally booked my car in for the recall this Monday, but when I discovered the oil leak on Wed night they let me bring it in the next morning and had it sorted by Friday lunchtime. (Sorry SLandJ if it held your car up - I think our cars may have met).

Long story short if Jeep Chullora had carried out an actual predelivery I would have not had any problems.
Hats off to Jeep Narellan for sorting it out.

Life lesson for me, continue to trust no one.

For those who are yet to pick up their vehicles have the dealer show you that the updates have been done by typing the VIN into the dealer connect site. These cars have had problems however they have fixes.

With all that behind me, I'm looking forward to picking up my new Jayco next week to complete my 'getaway package' and start making some memories for the kids.

I spoke to a few tint places and all said the same thing. They said the privacy glass is only for privacy....so it's difficult to see in (but not to see out).

Would like to hear feedbacks from limited/overland owners who had tinting done.
The factory deep tint sunscreen is impregnated in the glass with a dye to give it the dark privacy glass look, so there is no way to remove it. Just apply tint film over the top as per usual.

I got tinting done at Solartint, 35% light transmittance fronts (darkest legal tint) and nearly clear for rears (i think they were 95% light transmittance or something), all done in a ceramic film with lifetime warranty. The film block out 99% UV and around 63% heat. Their normal price was $385.

Sorry to break away from the window tinting, though I may return to that once my car is done next week. I was hoping someone on here has a 6.4 SRT with an aftermarket exhaust that I could listen to. I want something a little deeper sounding than stock but not something that drones too much on a longer run. I'm considering the borla ATAK though it might be too noisy for me. I really love the sound of the billy boat exhaust for the 6.4 engine in the 300C, though they've not released one for the GC yet. Mike at B B suggests early next year for theirs but I'd like to hear an ATAK when I can so I can make a call on whether I really like it or whether I should wait for B B...

Cheers,

GB

You would think they'd have a colour camera in them by now.

Nice, what rims are they?
Thinking of Plasti Dipping ours when I get it.
Maybe the Hot Pink, just to be lurid.

It's not a window tinting thread, so bring up whatever you like.

I have seen many posts about exhausts in the SRT threads, and lots of videos with before and after sounds on YouTube.

They're genuine Jeep/Mopar rims PN: 82212377. We wanted the ORA pack when we purchased ours but managed to snag an Overland in our spec that was already built and on its way to Oz. We've purchased and installed the mopar skid plates and 18's so we're now where we wanted to be. Like you, I would have plasti-dipped the stock 18's had we got the ORA pack.

Here you go, switched out the black and white film for colour!

Yes, if anyone is looking for a good dealership (from purchasing to servicing), then Macarthur Jeep at Narellan are very good.

Good news Bigskiddy - Happy get-aways to you.

If you want to make sure you don't end up with the drone, have a resonator fitted between the tail pipe and muffler.
If you are after the deep burble, try fitting an after market air cleaner before you do the exhaust. I used to fit finer filter pods to my V8's and that would really bring out the induction burble.
This combination has worked for me a number of times with various V8 powered vehicles.
