Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

SNUKE was scheduled for a 4pm pickup I think. Given the time it takes to sort out all the details, and then head back home he may still be driving home.

Picked up mine today (as did Radknight with his white SRT). Pleasant simple process for me. The hardest part was getting the car out of the showroom.... narrow doors. Put 100k's on it already but now tucked away in the garage till tomorrow.

Very nice - looks ready to me! I'd be keeping an eye on it.

Sorry, I did mean tail lights.....Basically the park lights only work when the vehicle is parked and not running....

Too right it did. We were supposed to be there at 4pm.
Finalised the sale of the Pajero at 3:00, 20 mins from Waitara.
Misses was extremely sad to see it go.
Go to bank.
Leave there about 3:40 due to messing around with not having enough cash on hand etc,,yep, I was going to do actual cash or half the car.

Leave, onto M2, just as I go past last turn off before the one I need, sign says accident on my exit, expect delays. 4km of backed up lane trying to turn off.
Go onto next exit, then spend ages coming back around. Another broken down car.
More stupid suburban traffic. You guys can keep the convenience you have of living closer in, that traffic is retarded. 30 mins to go 6kms.
So get there just before 5, Alex takes us through the car.
Finish paperwork about 6:30.

All nice and smooth, everything was good to go, all well handled by Alex and Michaela in finance.
Car looks very cool.
Webber we absolutely prefer the 18s to the 20s, no competition.
Our pink number plates look pretty cool.
They had a Black Ltd there with Gloss Black 20s, interesting, but we still just don't care for the design.

I haven't driven it, it's the misses car so she drove it home, paranoid as all hell with the wet suburban traffic and unfamiliar car.
We were on the phone most of the time.
We were both surprised to hear the front sensor go off when she was not that close to the car in front waiting at lights.

VR worked straight away for Nav and "Go Home".
She later successfully called me using the VR too.

She was happy with being very quite and stable. Doesn't like the side mirrors or front park sensor, but I know I can fix the sensor in the settings.
Uconnect is nice and responsive, imported my contacts straight away.

Economy was crap of course with all the start, stop - 13/100, but still far better than the Pajeros was at its best.

I only took one picture - Domo, this was for you. No issue at all here.

I will probably drive it tomorrow. Hopefully to go get the side steps.

I would suggest everyone on Jeepgarage is pleased for you SNUKE.
Will be very interested to hear from your wife after she has a few more K's under the belt whether she would give the Jeep back for the Pajero.
We will have to agree to disagree on the 18"/20" wheels. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I like my women to have uncomplicated simple curves of style. The simplicity, subdued style yet sophistication with the 5 spokes just appeals to me more than the Melways map of the 18" wheels. At the end of the day its each to their own. I at first found it difficult to drive with the mirrors not reflecting correct distances. It's not an issue now as you learn to use the mirrors in conjunction with the blind spot monitoring and you no longer need to keep spinning your head over the shoulder. Will also await your driving critique should you get a chance to get behind the wheel. Also, test out the music with the VR button. Will be interesting if the VR will find all the songs/artists you call for. My car is due in for the 6 monthly in 3 weeks and should receive all Uconnect updates so interested to see what improvements I acquire although I must say my car is almost faultless. I am sure others will also await some pics especially the interior which you spent a lot of time worrying about. You're going to love this car but a Pajero/Jeep comparison will be interesting when time presents. ENJOY.

Hi Snuke, congratulations on your new ride - no doubt you (but sounds your wife more likely) will enjoy it!!! Thanks for taking the photo. As mentioned I pulled the trim all apart and couldn't see anything, but when I put it back together it was fine???? There must have been a Gremlin stuck from the factory...or the flash I applied!!!

SNUKE, when you open up this site in the morning I would like to know how many times you wandered out to the garage prior to bed to just stare, look, sit in etc of the new vehicle.
