I have found the engine oil runs at around 100 deg C +- 5 deg C and when I checked with the OBDII reader the water temp is very close to the oil temp up to around 90 odd deg C. However today, again in traffic the water temp went up to the over half way while the oil temp read 106 deg C.

I don't have the OBDII handy but I am guessing that it is getting pretty hot. I am not concerned about the oil temp as I know oil can certainly run up to 130-150 deg C without any issue. However the water temp is a bit of a concern, it was not even a hot day today in Sydney.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Also I am not able to get the idle consumption figure (in L per hr) using my OBDII reader. I have been able to get it in all cars that I have used this reader with. I am wondering if anyone is able to get that consumption figure?
After 1,200km in little over a week I can answer some of my own questions. The coolant temp seems to be closely pegged with the oil temp, just under 100 deg C cruising in country road (100kph limit). Going up Mt Ousley was a breeze in 7th. I also found the fuel flow rate within the OBDII.

However I have found a couple more strange behavior with my GC. Firstly the interior lights fail to come on when you opens the door. I can use the rotary switch to turn them on and once they come on it seems to be fine for a few days.

Secondly the cruise control seems to have a mind of its own, sometimes it would turn off straight after the dash saying it is on. Once it stays on it is fine.

Lastly I have found the fuel consumption from the MFD to be optimistic. For the last trip the display say 8.4 L/100 however the actual consumption figure is around 9% higher (9.16 L/100).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Been a while since I have posted, been pretty busy at work and not had to much chance to even read the forum. I hope everyone is still pretty happy with their JGC.. I am still in love with Baa Baaa. Looks pretty sleek with the Mopar tubular sidesteps and mudflaps. Baa Baaa just had her 10000km service, I guess I have been hiding under a rock because I didn't bother telling my leasing company that she was going in for a service because I though all first services were free.. Got the nasty shock when I was hit with a $479.65 bill.

10,000kms service $182.00
Washer Solution $6.37
Oil Filter $75.40
SynPower XL3 5W/30 $152.00
Shop Supplies ????? $15.05
Rounding.. WTF... $0.02
Environmental Levy $5.21
GST $43.60

Now I guess I will be phoning my leasing company tomorrow to try and get some cash back..

Oh and not to forget that they forgot to stamp the service book and reset the computer to show the oil has been changed..

Current K's 10300 and loving it.

Auscop

I would go them for a refund of the washer solution, shop supplies and rounding. It's gouging. Toyota tries this on my wife when she gets her Corolla serviced (except rounding). I replenish her washer tank before taking it in, yet they attempt to hit her every time.

Rounding is only applicable for cash transactions, and only on the total amount of the invoice. There's no provision for rounding on an invoice prior to the customer choosing his or her method of payment.

Talk about 'maximising' profits.

Jarse, I would hate to cut in to their Christmas bonus, if they rip off ~ 2700 customers two cents each time they can buy the boys a case of beer.

This procedure still did not work.
I tried doing it with the key already done, no luck, couldn't remove programming either.
I will try a uconnect reboot, then reset.
